The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 12 Recap Contains Spoilers

In The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 12, Crosshair is on a new mission with Lieutenant Nolan, and they’re heading to Imperial Depot on Barton 4. They have to secure high-value cargo that local insurgents target. Nolan is quite bitter towards Crosshair as he doesn’t like clones.

When they reach at the facility, they meet Commander Mayday, who complains that they’ve reached late. Nolan insults the commander for being a clone. Crosshair tries to find out who has been attacking the depot. He tells Mayday to find out about the sensor security and what’s inside the cargo. Crosshair tries to keep an eye around to find out if there’s any threat. Suddenly, they get a call about an upcoming threat, and they all secure the depot. Still, the thieves manage to steal 2 cargos.

Two clones die in the attack – Hex and Veetch. Crosshair and Mayday find a cave and realise that’s how the attackers escape. When they return to the depot, Nolan complains about the stolen cargo. Mayday tells him they lost 2 of their men and needed more workforce to secure the perimeter. But Nolan is too stubborn to listen to him. He threatens Mayday and Crosshair that they will be blamed for the damage, if they fail to recover the cargo.

Crosshair and Mayday head out into the cave to find out any clues. The two find something in the ground and try to fetch it. They’re worried it’s an explosive, so Crosshair keeps his foot on it. Mayday asks Crosshair about his background (his unit). Crosshair tells him he was in the Clone Force 99, and his team members are gone. Crosshair lifts his leg from the unknown metal and is relieved that it isn’t an explosive.

The duo walks ahead and find a group of people outside the cave. They attacks them one by one. The equipment they’ve been wearing all this time was some trooper gear. Crosshair tells Mayday that it’s not clone trooper gear. Mayday talks about the new military getting new toys (gear), and they get the scraps. He tells Crosshair how they (clones) followed every order, made sacrifices and were good soldiers, yet they got nothing! Suddenly, there’s an avalanche and Crosshair and Mayday run to save their lives.

Mayday is unconscious, and Crosshair lifts him and returns him to the depot. Crosshair tells Nolan that Mayday needs a medic. But Nolan refuses to help because they didn’t find the stolen crates. Sadly, Mayday passes away. Nolan tells Crosshair that Mayday served his purpose as a soldier of the Empire. Crosshair is disappointed that Nolan didn’t save the fellow clone and talks rudely to the luitenant. Nolan warns him to not speak with such disrespect. Crosshair shoots Nolan and falls to the ground.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 12 Review: Final Thoughts

After a long time, we saw an episode that made sense. It has been so long since we saw Crosshair. But seeing him witness how the Empire doesn’t care about the clones anymore was good. He went against his friends to fulfil his duties towards the Imperial forces. What will be his next step after witnessing the disrespect towards his kind? That’s something to look forward to!
