The series stars Kang Ha-neul and Go Min-si, who play two hard-headed individuals working together in a restaurant. Although they bicker about everything at first, both of them start to fall for one another as time goes on. Other cast members include Kim Shin-rokYoo Su-binBae Na-ra, Hong Hwa-yeon and Yoo Yeon-Seok. The series is also known as 당신의 맛 and is directed by Park Dhan-hee.

In Tastefully Yours episode 5, Beom-woo is excited to go on a date with Yeon-joo after a big order comes in. However, his plans are thrown into disarray when her ex-boyfriend, Jeon Min (played by Yoo Yeon-seok), arrives at Jungjae to take her back to their old workplace. X user @minsizaki wrote, “I want to get involved! I want to get madly involved with you! OHKAY MR ROMANTIC”. Truly, Beom-woo’s romantic bone is one that left most viewers rooting for him, while Yeon-joo’s steely demeanour added the perfect spice to the mix. Another user wrote, @rayainalif – “Yeonjoo pushing the ex boyfriend away and running to kiss Beomwoo is the only Tastefully Yours plot twist I will accept, PLEASE! ????”

Meanwhile, others felt cautiously optimistic about the addition of Jeon Min and expressed displeasure of adding the ex-boyfriend angle. One user wrote, @wifiefie – “Please don’t ruin this drama, finally after very long we have a good drama and now this plot twist is so unnecessary. idk what’s this obsession of kdrama writers is with introducing ex in every drama to ruin things????????”

Although Yoo Yeon-seok might just add a dash of spice to this already interesting dish, most viewers were quick to point out of repetitive this storyline can get. We have seen the ex-boyfriend angle add conflict in other shows many times. Often, it ends in the leads getting back together but after an unnecessarily long break. Considering how light-hearted and unproblematic the storyline seems to be till now, fans wanted nothing to do with this detour. X user @jooonyiie wrote, “the drama is already short what was the need for the ex boyfriend / love triangle plot???”.

Let’s check out what others have to add about the episode!
