Battle Game in 5 Seconds fails to impress despite an intriguing concept and a great run of episodes in the middle. The animation continuously let it down at every moment, and the show struggled to get going and come to an end. Oh well, we still have the manga, I guess.
With Battle Game in 5 Seconds Episode 12, the death game anime coughed and spluttered to a grinding halt. While not entirely worthless, it was an affair made almost unwatchable by its shoddy animation and weird storyline decisions.
Battle Game in 5 Seconds Episode 11 did not seem like the penultimate episode of an anime. It looks like Studio A-CAT are out of the $20 they invested in their animation department, and the show looks like it. The plot is coasting by without anything of interest happening.
Battle Game in 5 Seconds Episode 10 was a fine offering by the show, which is setting up for either a show finale or a second season. The die is cast, and the moves are made. All that remains is to wait and see if the show sticks its landing.
Battle Game in 5 Seconds Episode 9 was great in everything but the animation department, as always. The plot is sprinting full speed towards a Season 2, but its existence is in no way a surety.
Battle Game in 5 Seconds Episode 8 told a great story while keeping things simple, and I appreciated the effort put forth by the team behind it. The plot and characters remain the best part of the show and make me tune in every week to find out what happens next!
Citadel Season 2 Review: The series delivers bigger action and stronger performances, but predictable storytelling holds back this ambitious spy thriller.
