Study Group Episode 4 Review: The Group is Now Official!

Study Group episode 4 has Ga-min welcome another new member, but this doesn’t happen another round of fighting, using some cool moves which are forbidden, and ending up in trouble. Meanwhile, the study group also taking on a leap as it officially gets recognised, but Han-gyeong also has something else in her mind.

The series has 10 episodes which will be released from 23 January 2025 to 20 February 2025.

Study Group Episode 4 Recap

The episode begins with the introduction of the group’s new member Lee Jun who is better at studying than he is at fighting. After seeing Ga-min’s punch that knocked out the 11th grader in the previous episode, Lee Jun wishes to join to group to get better at fighting. While Ga-min is not happy about his reason for joining the group, he gives him a chance by handing him a test paper.

The group then leaves to check on Han-gyeong while Lee Jun is left behind. As the day goes by, a sudden arrival at the library changes things for Lee Jun as a recruiter arrives looking for Ga-min. Lee Jun understands what this is for and goes with him telling him that he is Ga-min. However, the test he needs to face is not easy and almost gets him killed as he is made to face off three professional fighters.

Meanwhile, the group returns from their visit to Han-gyeong but is annoyed to find Lee Jun missing. But the paper on the table leaves Ga-min happy and shocked as he looks through the answers. Right then, Geon-yeob arrives and informs them about Lee Jun. Meanwhile, a beat-up Lee Jun is facing the consequences of his lie but the man informs him that he already knows he is not Ga-min.

Right then, Ga-min arrives at the scene with Ji-u and Geon-yeob to save Lee Jun. He tells Lee Jun that he is now a member of the group and heads forth to save his member. However, things aren’t easy here either and the three begin to fight off the men Lee Jun has to face. As Ga-min helps take them down, the final opponent is not as easy to handle. For the first time, his punches are blocked and even with the three together, the man is not easy to take down.

Left with no choice, Ga-min uses the forbidden technique taught to him by his uncle who trained him in martial arts. With this, he finally takes down the man but the danger is not over as the one hiding in the car tries to run over him. But Ga-min is saved by Lee Jun while the man in the car steps out and it is none other than Ma Min-hwan. As he tries to recruit Ga-min into the gang, he notices Geon-yeob and infuriates him so much that the latter begins chasing after him.

Meanwhile, Se-hyun and Hui-won get the police to the location and get the people there caught while saving Ga-min and the other from trouble. As Lee Jun is taken away by the medics, the detectives are stunned to see students take down these gang members. However, knowing the mess in the system Detective Na tells the students that he will be unable to reward them for what they’ve done.

On the other hand, Han-ul is getting more and more interested in Ga-min and Han-gyeong as they become his targets. Soon after, the study group officially begins working together while being led by Ga-min. Han-gyeong also returns from the hospital and gets the seal of approval from the vice-principal who is surprised by her ability. However, he also erupts in anger when he sees that she has also submitted a request for a disciplinary committee enquiry for Pi Han-ul.

Later, she heads to the library where she tells the group that they will soon be assigned a room. Meanwhile, she has arranged a study group exchange program for them where they will get to meet and exchange points with the study group of another school in Seoul. When the time finally comes, the group heads out while Ga-min runs late. They tell him to directly arrive at the school while the others make their way there.

However, Ji-u accidentally mispronounces the name of the school and doesn’t expect there to be an actual school of that name. Unknown to her, there is such a school and Ga-min has now arrived at a completely different place from the rest.

Study Group Episode 4 Review

This episode brings the perfect end to this week’s adventure, but this also comes with a cliffhanger of what next week is going to look like. While Ga-min’s future adventures are surely looking intriguing, we shall return to this episode where we are becoming all the more curious about Ga-min’s mysterious instructor. And what is the reason for Ga-min rushing home while being afraid of missing his curfew time? While these questions are definitely making us all curious, we also have to talk about the wonderful action scenes of this episode.

Ga-min’s punches are surely beautifully done, but Geon-yeob and Ji-u coming together with him to face one opponent was surely the highlight of this episode. This trio is already looking this good so I’m all the more excited and hopeful to see more of them together. Geon-yeob should just join the group already but I don’t see anything like this happening any time soon. Altogether, this episode was yet another beautifully brought-together set of scenes from Webtoon and I am excited for what the show is set to bring next week.
