Kiel and Piotrek, working as mercenaries with a private military company, embark on a mission to retrieve an experimental weapon that turns its victims into senseless killing machines. However, when his own brother falls victim to the machine, Kiel seeks revenge on those who are responsible.

Soulcatcher Ending Explained

Out on an easy mission with his brother Piotrek, mercenary Kiel gets entangled with his entire team in an operation that results in his brother’s death thanks to a machine called Soulcatcher, which can try anyone into a bloodthirsty killing machine. Their mission was to fetch Eliza Mazur from a warlord’s den, but on the way, they stumbled upon something much bigger than her or the photos that she took.

After Piotrek’s death, the team escapes from the clutches of the bad guys and are picked up by Interpol afterwards, who tell him that NMP are not who they make it out to be and that they will get rid of him once they get the use out of him. Kiel isn’t really interested in the conversation, which is cut short when the Minister makes an appearance and takes him out of holding.

soulcatcher ending explained

He gives Kiel the mission to fetch the Soulcatcher from the hands of General Yousif Bashir Mammadov and his right-hand man and creator of the machine Professor Witold Mazur. Kiel creates his team to get the machine and avenge his brother and comes across Eliza on the way. Once inside, and under disguise, they watch as the professor showcases the machine in front of the buyer and realise that the professor is just a pawn in Yousif’s game.

After the buyer gets the device, the disguised Kiel and his team get Professor Witold and Eliza out of the place, after Kiel makes the decision to keep him alive as he realises that the professor isn’t the one using the machine. The team gets rid of everyone and is also able to stop the buyer from taking off with the machine. However, Yousif turns the machine on in an attempt to run away with his money which results in bloody chaos among everyone. Almost everyone dies except for Kiel, who did not get hit with the full power of the machine.

At the end of the day, the Minister arrives to fetch the device, and it turns out that he has been lying the whole time – he wanted to use the machine to create fear and panic and, in turn, control the narrative. However, in the midst of this, Interpol makes an appearance and tries to stop them from taking or using the machine, but it simply results in a gunfight in which most of Kiel’s team dies, and he is left severely injured.

Realising that he has been manipulated and taken advantage of, Kiel, his remaining team and the Interpol agent team up to right their wrongs. However, it’s a one-man job, and everything rests on Kiel’s shoulders – of course, he successfully destroys everything and everyone in his path as well as the machine, but not before recording the Minister’s confession about his true plans.

In the end, the truth comes out, and the Minister’s men are arrested after getting beaten up by the general public, who barges into his home. Meanwhile, the Minister is taken away by a shadowy figure, and Kiel meets Eliza at a secret location.

Does the Soulcatcher turn people into zombies?

soulcatcher ending explained

Originally created to cure diseases, the Soulcatcher has turned into a sci-fi machine capable of making people extremely violent and overriding their consent in the matter. In a way, it does turn one into a zombie… but not exactly that. Anyone who gets into the blast radius of the machine keeps fighting anything in their path until the target is eliminated or they are.
