This beverage brand makes freshly brewed iced teas with no refined sugar, no preservatives and no concentrates that, according to the founders, “hits different”! They are also about to release milk mixes that are healthy and tasty, mentioning that they want to become the leader in the category that has flavoured sugar-dominant products. In the end, they ask for Rs 35 Lakhs for 4% equity. After their pitch, the Sharks get into a funny back and forth about the new generation lingo including BT (bad trip) and sus (suspicious) that leave everyone laughing.

The founders get into their journey and why they started their business, along with their education journey. The Sharks ask them about their sugar content and their prices, along with then moving on to their sales. The founders discuss how they have gone around saving money since their working capital is quite less. In the end, their zeal and energy leave the Sharks impressed and all the Sharks end up giving their offers. The founders decide to go with Anupam and Aman’s offer of Rs 35 Lakhs in exchange for 6% equity in the company.

The next founder introduced his advanced artificial intelligence platform that helps businesses place their products on hyper-realistic AI models to make their marketing journey easier and give them a push to start their business. Plus, the business can choose their models to be according to whatever they want and at a much lesser price. The founder asks for Rs 25 Lakhs for 10% equity in the company. Getting a rundown of the business, the Sharks are left surprised that none of the models displayed exist!

The Sharks get into what is unique about the product and why others will not be able to do the same thing in the future. The founder discusses that he has made an architectural model that no one can replicate but that he needs funding for the hardware that they need. The Sharks give them interesting feedback about pricing that the founder takes with open arms. After discussing their run rate and how they can use the Rs 25 Lakhs to scale the company, the Sharks give their deals. In the end, Anupam, Ritesh and Amit join the founder in this deal for what the founder had originally asked.

The last founder to come to the Tank is a mechanical engineering student who loves inventing, innovation and dismantling. His product is a bike that is powered by hydrogen-ethanol fuel in order to cut down the costs of petrol. The founder discusses the low cost of fuel to run this bike and the ease of making it as well. He asks for Rs 30 Lakhs in exchange for 5% equity in the company. The Sharks ask the founder about his motivation to start the company and his drive to start this venture. It makes him emotional to think about the trials and tribulations that he went through in order to get to where he is today.

The Sharks then get into how he made the bikes and his push to keep going in spite of the problems and roadblocks that he faced along the way. He then breaks down the process of making the fuel and how the bike runs. The Sharks ask the founder what his vision is for the company and how he is thinking of running it, however, he is unable to give definitive answers. The Sharks further get into different important questions, including alternative uses of his invention, which the founder answers with conviction.

In the end, Namita advises him to get into a company’s R&D department and learn the tricks of the trade first and get a better view of everything before jumping into the automobile sector which is a very big dream and requires a lot of capital. She promises to help him meet the right people and the other Sharks also agree with the thoughts, promising to help him once he gets the thought clarity. In the end, Anupam promises to help him with patenting the fuel technology and everyone wishes him the best.

Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 31 Review

In this new and exciting episode, viewers will, if nothing else, be left impressed and hopeful about the future of the company as we see so many young and bright minds trying to take the country forward with their clear thoughts and unending drive. The inspiration that one can get from these founders is immense and the episode is an extremely interesting watch in that regard.

However, one thing that I didn’t like about the episode is how much there’s an emotional element to it. Although it helps viewers to connect and sympathise with the contestants, it’s still a little desperate to show on TV and feels forced. The focus of the show is business and whenever it gets into the emotional territory like every other reality TV show out there, it loses its charm.

That being said, there are a lot of interesting questions in this episode that will leave you hooked and the fact that all the founders are able to take constructive criticisms is just the cherry on the cake.
