Homi Adajania’s latest crime thriller drama found a prominent start within its premiere week, but should the show return with Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo Season 2? Let’s dive into that! The Disney+ Hotstar series is written by Saurav Dey, Nandini Gupta and Aman Mannan. While the dialogues are written by Karan Vyas, and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. Season 1 has 8 episodes in total with a runtime of about 50-55 minutes.
The ensemble cast of the series includes Dimple Kapadia as Savitri/Rani Ba, Radhika Madan as Shanta, Angira Dhar as Kajal, and Isha Talwar as Bijli along with Naseeruddin Shah, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal as Monk, Kiku Sharda, Monica Dogra as Naina, Jimit Trivedi and more.
Will There Be Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo Season 2?
The show follows a group of women, which includes the matriarch Savitri, her daughters-in-law, Bijli and Kajal, and her daughter Shanta. They live in a secluded village named Hastipur, amidst the landscapes of desert in the north-west. Savitri, also referred to as Rani Baa by everyone, runs a company named Rani Cooperative, trading in products ranging from medicinal herbs, and balms to textiles. But in reality, it was all a farce to run the biggest drug cartel in South Asia.
In the show, we see at Rani Baa’s sons – Harish & Kapil are initially oblivious to everything but gradually get involved in the business, with a fair share of crimes. And with various enemies trying to take control of their businesses, she decides to name her heir who will be responsible for everything, as she is getting old.
Through various turns and twists, in the end, it was revealed that Rani Baa did not die in the car crash and was shown walking towards the area where Monk and all the family members had gathered to get to know about the heir. While Monk burnt the will papers that had the name, it was never revealed who she thought to be capable of taking over.

While there has been no update about the show being renewed for another season but we feel that there are definitely some plot lines that can be explored further. The revelation of Rani Baa being alive has to be the starting point of the next season, with the aftermath of what happened to the Monk.
More importantly, the tussle was about finding a true and capable heir for Rani Cooperative, thus, the show can further explore how each character develops and become power-hungry, after being through so much. The major character change was seen in Kapil and it will be interesting to see how he will cope with the fact that his own wife, Kajal was the spy for Monk and will he become more destructive after all this.
Almost all the secrets were revealed about the family members, this in a way makes them more free to pursue anything they want and without fear. Also, Rani Baa has some answers to give to her family for conspiring with Officer Prasoon and whether he is even alive or not. His wife knows everything about Rani Baa & her business, so could she come after her while looking for Prasoon, in the next season?
As of now, there are various things that need to be answered and some interesting plots that could be taken further. However, it all depends on the reception and popularity of the show which will determine if we will see our favourite characters again.
