Project UFO Ending Explained: A party is held to appreciate the findings of Polgar, Sokolik and Josef, but the result isn’t what Sokolik wished for. Meanwhile, a powerful politician enters the party and plans for a future to take over power. Some time after the party ends, Sokolik finds out the truth behind his brother’s disappearance, and this shakes up his beliefs.

The plot of the series follows two men- a fading TV star and an extraterrestrial enthusiast- who embark on a journey when news of an alleged UFO landing comes to them. While the search for proof of the existence of extraterrestrial beings and their origin pulls others in their circle into the debate, a powerful politician makes use of this incident to seize power over the country.

Project UFO Ending Explained

The final episode of the show takes us to the party arranged to bring Polgar, Sokolik and Josef to the centre. Sokolik understands that he is being pushed aside by Polgar and has his own arrangements ready for the party. Meanwhile, Polgar enjoys the limelight from the sensational news, unaware of the things happening to the star of the show, Josef. Soon, it is time for the highlight of the party, and Josef is brought to the stage where he is to be hypnotised and retell the story of the time he saw the UFO.

While Sokolik tries his best to get everyone’s attention on his theory of USOs (Unidentified Submersible Objects), no one is interested, and the evening moves on to the hypnotising of Josef. Sokolik then stands behind Polgar and snaps his finger right after the person hypnotised Josef, and once again brings everyone’s attention to the description of the extraterrestrial being.

Right then, the General arrives and Sokolik is pushed aside. The General stands in front of Josef and asks if the being had any message for them, and Josef replies, “Protect the oceans.” The party soon continues, but doubts begin to arise in Polgar’s mind. However, the main purpose of the party was fulfilled as the General gained the limelight and the support he wanted, which was later celebrated by the Secretary and Polgar and their wives.

Days later, Sokolik is arrested for the sale of illegal alcohol and supporting Solidarity. When Julia goes to reveal the news about him to their daughter Sarah, they find something in the lake that leaves Julia shocked.

What Did Julia Find in the Lake?

After Sokolik’s arrest, Julia tries to tell her daughter about the incident, but is shocked to see something shining in the lake. Later, she meets Sokolik in prison and shows him the prosthetic hand that she found in the lake, which belonged to Sokolik’s younger brother. During their childhood, the trio went to the lake for one of Sokolik’s experiments, which ended with his younger brother’s disappearance. This made Sokolik adamant that aliens took his brother away and created his USO theory.

Since then, Sokolik had been obsessed with his belief and made sure to persuade everyone that it is true. However, seeing the arm in front of him shook his belief as Julia reveals that his brother must have reached the very depths of the lake.

What Happens to Polgar?

After the party, Polgar published the findings of this incident in his book, which soon became a hit. He mentions all the incidents that took place, the witness interviews and details brought in by Sokolik as well. This makes him famous again while Sokolik stays in prison.

What Revelation Does Sokolik Have for Polgar?

Sokolik has Julia sent to Polgar’s book signing, which then brings the man to prison to meet him. There, Sokolik reveals that he had hypnotised Josef into creating this story and making the world believe in USOs. It was all his plan from the beginning, and this leaves Polgar in shock, but he doesn’t flinch as he doesn’t care much about the new discovery. Instead, he asks Sokolik why he hypnotised his daughter. This is when Sokolik reveals that he never hypnotised his daughter, and what she may have seen could be real. This becomes a new discovery and mystery for both of them.

What Does the General Do? What Does Polgar Make of the Situation?

While Polgar meets Sokolik, the General arrives at the television station, where he takes over Wera’s show and declares martial law across the country as of midnight. As he takes over the power of the country, Polgar makes his way to Josef’s house and is shocked to see the officers there. He soon finds out that Josef is being taken away to another place in the name of security from the extraterrestrial beings, so that no one reaches him again. He is then told to head home soon, as the Utilitarian State Occupation will be set as of midnight on the orders of the general. This leaves him shocked as he understands that the term is abbreviated as USO. Finally, it is in a way that Sokolik’s USO becomes the ultimate winner.
