Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 1 and 2 Review
Tying up loose ends from the season finale of Original Sin, as Tabby would say, Pretty Little Liars Season 2 began with the reign of Archie Waters’ terror back in the town of Millwood. Broken out of jail, A was all over the town doing his usual killing spree until the girls got him in again. However, that was just a glimpse of the gore and horror to come in the show.
As New Year’s gets over, the girls move on to live a more normal life. There are ups, such as the romantic lives of Mouse and Noa but, there are also serious downs, such as Imogen giving away her baby and Tabby’s film not getting through any film festival. There is a a lot of trauma left behind by what happened in the last season which is addressed too through group therapy sessions in this season.
With the verdict on A’s trial taking more time than usual, the town and a specific website start a chain of rumours, both horrifying and crazy. On the other hand, the girls suffer academically due to the events of the last season (which seems only realistic in every way possible), sending them to the titular ‘summer school’ to improve their grades. But, is any place even safe for our final five?

Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 1 does a fine job in tying up both the seasons together. The gap that we sat through to get to the second season seems just a couple of weeks on screen which is good to keep us in the pace. Especially for viewers who might be interested in binge-watching the two seasons together, it was a thoughtful move.
The group therapy sessions incorporated in the show also were actually good and not mocking in any manner, which is strange because shows can rarely get the therapy aspect of individual lives on screen right. However, the pacing was extremely jarred and fast. For the first 20 minutes of season 2, it was confusing to see what was going where because one had no idea about the pace.
Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 1 and 2: Final Thoughts
Overall, Pretty Little Liars Season 2’s premiere episodes were enjoyable. They weren’t groundbreaking but, they were just right in bringing up that enthusiasm and thrill this franchise always promised to offer. As the story keeps getting ‘bloody’, we are surely in for a treat.

You can watch the first two episodes of Pretty Little Liars Season 2 now on Max as well as Jio Cinema. The next episode of the show is scheduled to arrive on May 16, 2024.
