Positively Yours Episode 2 Recap

This episode begins with Doo-joon proposing to Hee-won, asking her to marry him. He wants to take responsibility for what he has done, and in his mind, proposing to her is the best-case scenario. She obviously does not accept it and tells him to go home and think about it properly. This leaves both of them confused and conflicted. On top of that, it becomes very apparent that Doo-joon has started to fall for Hee-won and has no idea how to approach his emotions.

Here, we also see Doo-joon’s sister-in-law meeting with Hee-won and giving her the idea to get an abortion as a thoughtful and kind stranger. However, her actual motive is not let Doo-joon marry because she blames him for her husband’s death. She doesn’t want him to be happy, and hence, she orchestrates this entire plan.

In this episode, we also see Doo-joon’s brother. They were on a mountain climbing trip and shared a very healthy relationship. But an accident happened, and it was something that no one could have prevented or predicted. After going home, a tired Hee-won thinks about what she should do and falls asleep. But Doo-joon, who has texted her, still waits for her reply and gets worried.

The next day, Hee-won gets to know that she actually got selected go to Germany. It is obviously a big accomplishment for her, as she always wanted to study in Germany, but now, as a pregnant woman, she thinks about her life choices. She can definitely be a single mother, but that will leave her with less time for her child. She obviously doesn’t want to be a bad mother; that’s why this is a very difficult decision for her to make. Doo-joon is also getting apprehensive about the fact that Hee-won did not reply to his messages. But as fate had other plans, they met again, this time in their office.

Hee-won corners him and takes him to another room to sort things out. Then Doo-joon again asks her to get married, but she flat-out refuses. Still, Doo-joon pushes forward and even asks for them to be in a contractual marriage, keeping the child’s goodwill as the highest priority.  Hee-won obviously rejects this idea as well, and before they could further their discussion, another problem arrived for them. They must hide the fact that they know each other, and while doing this, Doo-joon falls more in love with Hee-won.

Later, Hee-won goes to meet her mother, but rather than treating her properly, she only spews poison. After knowing Hee-won is pregnant, she just tells her to get rid of it because she will be reminded of all her losses while looking at the child. Hee-won also looks at other mothers struggling with motherhood and goes to the gynaecologist. There, she gets to know that it was difficult for her to get pregnant, but now that she is pregnant, it is nothing but a miracle. But honestly, it’s still a mystery whether she will actually keep the baby or not.

Positively Yours Episode 2 Review

I like today’s episode because of how fun it was to watch. Yes, the script has been vastly modified from what it was in the webtoon, but I do not mind the change. Plus, the acting of the characters sells the story to me.
