– This article contains spoilers about Our Blues episode 2 –

The first two episodes majorly portray the lives of Han-su, played by Cha Seung-won, and Eun-hui, played by Lee Jung-eun. Han-su is married and his wife and daughter have been living in the USA for 7 years to support their daughter, Bo-ram’s Golf career. However, Bo-ram has not been doing well in her career but Han-su is adamant about giving her the best coaching. He has borrowed money from almost everyone he knows and his wife is also infamous in the Korean community in the USA for being penniless and still trying to get her daughter to play golf.

Han-su’s siblings had given up on their education so that Han-su can study but even after getting a good job in Seoul, Han-su couldn’t take care of his family. He has lost almost all of his fortune on Bo-ram’s failed career and still shamelessly asks his sister for money when she barely has anything for herself. He has been transferred to his hometown Jeju where he gets to meet all of his old friends after many years. He hadn’t kept in touch with them because he was busy making money but he is happy to be back and to find out that they haven’t changed at all.

Eun-hui, played by Lee Jung-eun, can be called the richest person in their town. She runs her business in the fish market, owns multiple buildings and has the most money deposited in the bank than anyone else. She has done all of this while taking care of her sibling’s education and marriage by herself. Eun-hui never got married. She is happy to see her first love, Han-su, back in town. Han-su was her first crush and first love while they were in high school.

It has been some days and Han-su has got to know all about how his friends are doing. He is especially impressed by Eun-hui and her richness. He is jealous of her that she owns such a big fortune by running a fish business and he is penniless after working in Seoul. He tries asking her for money after their reunion but he holds himself back. When Eun-hui shows up at his door, he hides the pictures of his family and lies to Eun-hui that he has been separated from his wife for quite a time.

Han-su offers Eun-hui to go on a trip to Mokpo with him as they did back in high school. Eun-hui declines his offer initially but later agrees to go with him. Han-su hasn’t felt happier and more relaxed in many years and the trip to Mokpo has been bringing out all of his memories and he is trying to relive them. He feels young as if he is back in high school. Eun-hui had kissed Han-su in Mokpo for the first time and it is a memory that she cherishes a lot. She agreed to go with Han-su just as a friend because he is still married but Han-su seem to have different intentions.

Is Han-su trying to get close to Eun-hui because he hasn’t been happy with his married life and wants to start anew? Or is he trying to fool Eun-hui to take advantage of her money? He could just be trying to have a good time with his friend but again, he denied taking other friends on the trip.
