My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 20 Review- Lady Nagant

Endeavor hawks Jeanist My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 20

Compare any frame from seasons 1 to 4 of this show to right now, and you will notice a mountain of difference between the show’s presentations throughout the years. The colourful framing and bright atmospheres have all been done away with to be replaced with dark outlines and a general lack of contrast. The show’s animation now fits the tone of its story- it is now dark, dour and devoid of the joy present in the initial seasons. It is almost like we are watching a completely different show now that does not resemble the older seasons much.

This is like when someone makes the wrong choice in a choice-based video game and gets the bad ending. The heroes are now facing the entire might of the villains while being in the worst condition they have been in for decades. Villains have brought society to a halt, and all the societal norms are crumbling to the ground. At this time, the last thing that heroes need is to lose their final trump card- Deku and One For All. Well, someone extremely capable is after doing just that.

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 20 Nagant

Lady Nagant is the newest entry into the ever-expanding and massive villain catalogue who made her first appearance when Shigaraki broke down Tartarus to bring back All For One. Now, we see that she has been anointed chief Deku-killer in an effort to bring One For All to the villains. She is also extremely capable of the task and has one of the deadliest quirks in the show. There is but one issue with this plan, however- she is going up against Deku, perhaps the strongest hero still operating.

There was a lovely look at the conversation Deku had with the previous holders of the quirk in My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 20, as we hope to see more and more of what they discussed take form in the next episodes. We learned some more about the time before One For All became the all-powerful quirk that it is and when All for One’s reigns were still going strong as the kingpin of the society. The more things change, the more they stay the same, I guess. It is absolutely hilarious that All Might was finally the one to bring All For One down, and he’s already back up.

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 20 was a calculated but wild ride. Deku trying to escape literal death at the hands of a former hero was highly entertaining, and his ideals and personality still shine very brightly in this sea of agony and despair. He is the only one who can save the world now, and he knows it, while all the adults can do is try their hardest to help him survive. This is the ideal breeding ground for a lot of fear and uncertainty, adding a new layer of intrigue into the show.

Verdict

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 20 was another step forward into this horrible world of the villains’ creation as Deku fought someone extremely dangerous. Not the best of this season, but that’s an extraordinarily high bar.
