Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Episode 6 Overview
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible or Kubo-san wa Mob wo Yurusanai in original Japanese is a romance and slice-of-life anime based on a popular manga written series by Nene Yukimori. It is being adapted into the medium of anime by Studio Pine Jam. This young studio has had several notable come out in recent years, notably Gamers!, Kageki Shoujo!!, and Do It Yourself. Kazuomi Koga is directing the show. He has been directly involved in the productions of various anime series in the past, including Steins Gate 0 and Re: Zero. He also directed the second season of Rent-a-Girlfriend. Make of that what you will. This episode is also known as Kubo-san wa Mob wo Yurusanai Episode 6 in original Japanese.

Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Episode 6 Review- The Love-Bug
All good things must come to an end, or at least a pause in this case, as this was the last episode of Kubo before the show went on an extended break due to the spread of COVID in the studio. It is a bittersweet goodbye, as the show was really starting to get good in these past few episodes. Still, there is also the matter of knowing that it would eventually return, perhaps in a season that isn’t also simultaneously airing Nagatoro-san for it to compete against. At least it ended on a very sweet note.

As Shiraishi continues to deal with his invisibility and Kubo’s resistance to it, he is starting to realise how lonely the world really is without friends. Having Kubo beside him has taught him how much easier things can get once you give up your inhibitions and try going outside the bubble you have created for him. In his case, he doesn’t venture far beyond the bubble and only allows Nagisa and her immediate family into it, but progress is progress.
Speaking of Nagisa’s immediate family, they had a big role to play in this episode, as we met a third, albeit a distant, Kubo sibling here. The adorable Saki Kubo had a charming role in this episode as she served as a vehicle for Junta to praise Kubo for the first time in front of others. Akina Kubo, Nagisa’s older sister, is great every time she is featured, and her funny antics with Shiraishi were a great part of the episode. She knows a slightly different version of Junta than anyone else, but she understands the circumstances of their meeting. Hopefully, at least.

The other parts of Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Episode 6 were also great in their own way, even if they didn’t accomplish anything special. Nagisa teaching Shiraishi was cute and gave us a great Kubo look in the form of glasses Kubo. Shiraishi has certain biases when it comes to Hugo, such as her only being out to annoy and make fun of him, but as you and I both know, he has profoundly misunderstood the situation that exists between them. Poor boy.
The last section had all to do with falling sick, which is ironic for this show. Seita got a cameo as Shiraishi lay in bed away from school and, once again, showcased how he is the best wingman this side of the pacific. The chat interaction between Nagisa and Junta was sweet, and so was their interaction at school once Junta did get back there. It was the closest the duo had ever been, and the moment was very well-built by the writers. It’ll be a while till we meet again, but you made sure you wouldn’t be forgotten, Kubo-san.
Verdict
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Episode 6 was another sugary sweet episode that brought an elegant conclusion to this half of this season. Let’s hope that the animators are alright and are recovering well, for that means we’ll receive more of this sugary goodness.
