The situation spirals out of control as the Gifted Communion wreaks havoc, disrupting the peace in a chaotic manner. Kiyoka finally acquires the device responsible for controlling the creatures and hands it over to Kazushi for inspection. Kazushi reveals that the device is tightly bound by something resembling chains. Meanwhile, Miyo experiences another vivid dream.

In this dream, she witnesses a crucial moment from the past involving Usui and her mother. Usui had once returned, hoping to take her mother away from her oppressive in-laws. However, she firmly refused, insisting that she was happier staying with her daughter. Miyo realizes that her mother made this decision to help Usui move on, though she was unaware of the depth of his obsession. Usui, unable to let go, now intends to eliminate Kiyoka and use Miyo to build a new world under the Usuba family’s rule.

A small boy springs up from the ground and promises to help Miyo out, and that is how the episode begins. Miyo, on the other hand, finally wakes up after fainting and gets all the harrowing news about what has happened to her husband. The entire city is under attack, and the special anti-grotesque unit is somehow handling the gifted communion. Prince Takaihito is also trying his best to pursue the remaining intruders.

Somewhere else, we finally understand what Arata actually wanted. He is not completely siding with the gifted communion but only till he secures the safety of Miyo. Later, we ultimately understand who the young boy was, and it was apparently a shikigami under Kiyoka. This means that Kiyoka is still safe, and nothing has happened to him yet. Miyo, thus, departs on her journey to save Kiyoka with the help of the shikigami.

In this episode, we also see the full truth about Usui. He truly is a tragic character whose parents got killed while he was very young. To get revenge, he uses his powers against humans with no abilities, and this is how his descent into psychopathy takes place. He turns to the dark side and becomes more and more cruel to others. However, after Sumi enters his life, he becomes more human, but even that gets ripped apart from him. After Sumi gets married, Usui completely vanishes until he comes back, forming the gifted communion.
