The atmosphere in the palace is tense, as some corrupt ministers seek to take advantage of the current uncertainty for their own benefit. They are displeased with the significant influence Prince Takaihito holds and are determined to challenge his authority. Additionally, they seem unbothered by the growing power of the Gifted Communion, possibly because some high-ranking officials are already involved with the group.

Meanwhile, Miyo has taken up residence in the palace, and to help her feel more at ease, Hazuki and Prince Takaihito organize a gathering. During this event, Kaoruko also joins in, sparking speculation that she and Godo might share a romantic connection. The conversation among the women turns to love and the regrets they carry. Hazuki, in particular, opens up about her lingering feelings for her ex-husband and her wish that she could undo past mistakes.

The tension escalates when a minister attempts to bribe Arata into working for him. At the same time, Arata’s composure begins to falter, especially after being confronted by Usui. It remains uncertain whether he will oppose the main characters or develop feelings for Miyo, but his behaviour around her suggests that possibility.

The situation has completely gone out of hand as the Gifted Communion has started to disrupt the peace in an extremely unceremonious way. Kiyoka finally gets his hand on the device that is controlling the creatures and makes Kazushi inspect it. He discloses that it is bound quite tightly by something like a chain. After that, we witness Miyo having another lucid dream.

Here, she sees what exactly happened in the past between Usui and her mother. Usui returned to take her mother away from her in-laws. However, she strictly told him no because she claimed that she was happier with her daughter. Miyo understands that her mother did this so that Usui could forget her and move on. But she didn’t know that Usui could never move on from her as he was obsessively in love with her. Now, he plans to get rid of Kiyoka and use Miyo to create a new world where the Usuba family will rule.

The situation worsens after that because one of Usui’s associates comes to attack Miyo directly. We also discovered many flaws within the government itself. There are many high-ranking ministers who are conspiring with Usui to take down the monarchy and become ministers themselves. They are helping Usui so that they can rule. But if they think they can have Miyo just like that, then they are gravely mistaken, as Kiyoka is there to save her every time.

We see Kiyoka again save the day and come for his beloved. He looked positively mad that Miyo got attacked and took revenge for it properly. Not just him, others also come for help. This starts a visually beautiful fight, but the end shocks us all. We witness an unlikely betrayal that came from a very trusted person.

Verdict

I like today’s episode, as it is drawing closer to the conclusion. We now know the main culprits and understand what their motives are behind doing such hideous things. It will definitely be very interesting to see what might happen to Miyo. However, I think this betrayal is just for show and not real at all.
