It doesn’t just beautifully bring to us a generation we have mostly heard about through our parents and grandparents but also makes us see them as people who have worked hard in ways we can never fathom. These elements of the show capture our attention right from the start as we begin to truly see people who have suffered yet found happiness in their lives that we have begun to underestimate. They never needed to do something great to find happiness, all they did was live and happiness came to them.

When Life Gives You Tangerines Predictions for Week 2!
Yang Geum-myeong’s Burst Out
Last week, we witnessed Ae-sun and Gwan-sik’s daughter Yang Geum-myeong bursting out with anger after her meeting with her boyfriend’s mother. With her words circulating in her head, she screams at Ae-sun how they were so poor that her mother had to beg to feed her. This makes us believe that life only gets harder for the couple after the fiasco with Gwan-sik’s boss and his leaving his job. But we also know that this time isn’t forever as the two are sure to make life for their family better with their resilient effort.
The Next Chapter of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik’s Life
While Geum-myeong’s burst out makes us believe that life gets harder for the family, still released the upcoming show that Ae-sun and Gwan-sik find a way to make things better. One still shows Ae-sun gathering together with the other Haenyeo ladies and joining them in the market to sell whatever produce she has. While she joins her husband in earning for the family, Gwan-sik is also not hiding behind as he takes on a new role.
They still also show him maybe opening a restaurant with Ae-sun and the two working hard each day for their children. He has either opened a small restaurant with her or is working at someone else’s restaurant to help provide for his family. Life is surely getting harder for the two but they are ready to continue against all the hardships and live a fulfilling life no matter what.
Meanwhile, another child is on the way and we are ready to see Park Bo-gum play another role just like Ae-sun and Geum-myeong. We can see stills of him dressed in a military uniform which makes us wonder if he’s playing the role of Gwan-sik in these scenes or their future son.
Leaving The Island
We also see another still in which Geum-myeong is in her teenage years and she is happily going to school. Ae-sun made sure that her daughter could pursue her dreams no matter what and definitely must have been the driving force behind her achieving higher education. The two dearly love their daughter and wish for her to achieve what they couldn’t, showing their proud smile for their daughter who is ready to take on the world.
Meanwhile, last week we see the two visiting their daughter in the city which makes us think that while the two stay behind on the island, Geum-myeong can achieve their dream of leaving this place. Once again showing us their supportive parenting that spreads her wings.
The Yang Family
We are safe to assume that irrespective of the dramatic separation of Gwan-sik and Ae-sun from the Yang family, they reconcile to some extent in the future. Now, what makes us believe this is seeing Gwan-sik’s sister having a better time with their family which again has us believing that the two families are communicating to some extent. But to what extent, that we will find out in the upcoming episodes?
