After the successful second season of Mumbai Diaries, viewers have only one name on their lips- Mohit Raina, who plays the righteous doctor Kaushik Oberoi in Nikkhil Advani’s latest. The actor’s character is one of the central focuses of the storyline this season, and he delivered every nuance incredibly well. One might say that Raina’s portrayal of the character made it more human and relatable and might just be one of the best ones in the show.
However, this is not the first time the actor has handled a role with grace and skill. Mohit Raina has been in the acting business for some time now. He started his acting career with the science fiction series called Antariksh in 2004 and has not looked back since. After so many years in the industry, the actor has blessed us with some crucial gems we ought to know. Here is a comprehensive list of the best Mohit Raina movies and shows!
Mohit Raina Shows and Movies to Watch After Mumbai Diaries Season 2
Devon Ke Dev Mahadev
If there is one role that really gave Mohit Raina his much-needed clout, it has to be this Life OK series. Growing up in the 2010s, it is absolutely impossible to think of anyone else but Raina when one talks about the role of Lord Shiva in the Indian television scene. Raina’s embodiment of the God character was so iconic and brilliant that the show had a running of 820 episodes! As the title suggests, the series revolved around the life of Lord Shiva. Mouni Roy was cast opposite Raina in the role of Devi Sati in this show. It is streaming now on Hotstar and Hulu.

The Freelancer
A recent web series that has quickly garnered the attention of many is this Neeraj Pandey creation where Raina plays the titular character. The action thriller is based on the book A Ticket To Syria, where our titular character is an ex-cop turned mercenary, who takes up the daunting task of rescuing Kashmira Pardeshi’s character Aliya- a newly married girl who gets trapped in war-torn Syria with the growing terror of the ISIS. With an intense plot that has various important themes to reflect on, Raina’s acting is top-notch in this 2023 show and only adds yet another feather to his acting cap. Watch the show now on Hotstar.
Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat
Colours TV’s Hindi historical drama offered us Mohit Raina in yet another characteristic role that will always be memorable- The Emperor Ashoka (304–232 BCE), who was the third emperor of the Mauryan dynasty of India. Created by Ashok Banker, Raina played the older version of Emperor Ashoka with Siddharth Nigam playing the younger version of the same. Although the show did not get a lot of good reviews, it was definitely a fan favourite and mimicked some amazing level of world-building. Both the actors playing the titular character were also tremendously good. The series is available for viewing on Jio Cinema India.
Shiddat
Kunal Deshmukh’s 2021 directorial really was an unnecessary addition to the Hindi romantic genre movies. It was baseless and had so many flaws that you would give up after a point of time. Yet the only knight in shining armour in this film was Mohit Raina playing the supporting character Gautam Sehgal- an embassy officer. Raina’s performance was solid and delightful and the only good thing about this film. Watch it now on Hotstar.
Mrs Serial Killer
Our unpopular opinion about this Indian crime thriller is that it had a rather compelling premise which lacked efficient execution. Written and directed by Shirish Kunder and produced by Farah Khan, this 2020 movie features Raina in the major role alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Manoj Bajpayee. Raina plays the role of Inspector Imran Shahid with the dedication and intensity that only he can bring to a character. Nonetheless, the film is still not well appreciated by a lot of people but definitely is a good example of how versatile Raina is as an actor. The film is streaming on Netflix.
