The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8 Ending Explained: The latest episode is the final one which is titled ‘What Was Meant to Be’. With a runtime of over an hour, the episode is directed by Sanaa Hamri and written by Rafe Lee Judkins and Timothy Earle. Rafe Judkins is the developer of the series. It is based on the popular high fantasy novel series of the same name by Robert Jordan with Brandon Sanderson.

For the main cast of The Wheel of Time Season 2, we have Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred, Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al’Vere, Zoe Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Daniel Henney stars as Lan Mandragoran, Kate Fleetwood as Liandrin Guirale, Priyanka Bose as Alanna Mosvani, Sophie Okonedo as the Amyrlin Seat aka Siuan Sanche, Kate Alexander as Min Farshaw and Hammed Animashaun as Loial. In this season, there is a major cast change- Mat Cauthon is being played by Donal Finn instead of Barney Harris.

Some new characters are entering this universe in the second season. It includes Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, Meera Syal as Verin, Natasha O’Keeffe as Selene, Maja Simonsen as Chiad, Ragga Ragnars as Bain, Jay Duffy as Dain Bornhald, and Rima Te Wiata as Sheriam Bayanar.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8 Ending Explained

The big battle between all our heroes and the bad guys is what emerges in The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8. We have Rand and his crew fighting Ishamael and this ensembled Forsaken Ones, to gain the ultimate power.

Towards the end of The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8, we see that Mat accidentally wounds Rand. However, it was actually in his attempt to save Rand. To save the say we have Elayne to heal him. Perrin and Egwane manage to protect Rand as Elayne heals him for the final battle. Meanwhile, Moiraine destroys the Suroth and her forces, including the ship and the people.

Thereafter we have the final battle between Rand and Ishamael. With Rand’s full power restored he is able to kill the Dark One. With this act, Moiraine, according to the prophecy, declares Rand as the Dragon Reborn. The entire city of Falme rejoices, including Lanfear.

Although the story for the Dragon and his friends does not end here. We see Lanfear meet a Forsaken after the battle is over. The Forsaken is called Moghedien, who informs her that the Dark One aka Ishamael has set all of the Forsaken free, signifying that the dangers have not ended yet.
