Moon Knight: May Calamawy is Elated With All the Love Coming for Layla

Marvel’s Moon Knight has 3 episodes released so far. The show stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant/Marc Spector and Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow. In episode 2, fans met May Calamawy, who plays Layla El-Faouly, Marc’s wife. May made a powerful entry in the show, and she’s a total badass. Layla often kicks the bad guys in scenes with Steven and makes fans fall in love with her.

In Moon Knight episode 3, we see more of May as Layla. We also learn that Khonshu sees her as a suitable candidate to fight evil if Marc doesn’t do what he wants. On social media, fans can’t stop praising the actor and her character. Calamawy is delighted with all the love coming her way.

Marvel Studios shared a few stills featuring May’s Layla. They captioned it, “Gotta love #LaylaElFaouly Watch Marvel Studios’ #MoonKnight, now streaming on @DisneyPlus.” In the reply section, fans have showered praises on her. One person wrote, “LAYLA WE LOVE YOUUUUUU”. Another fan commented, “Me and Steven are in love with her ????”.

May Calamawy took to her Instagram page and has shared her reaction to all the love coming her way. The actor wrote in her story, “My heart is SO full. Thank you all for your kind, loving words.”

On Twitter, too, fans have a lot to say about Layla. One person tweeted, “I don’t blame Marc or Steven for falling for Layla cause damn I am too”. Another wrote, “marvel better not kill off my wife layla or they’ll be hearing from my lawyers.. #moonknight #LaylaElFaouly”, a fan wrote.

The next episode of Moon Knight will air on Disney+ on April 20.
