What If Season 3 Episode 7 Recap
The episode opens with a valiant fight, Nova Prime and her squad being left speechless at the huge cosmic monster that threatens to destroy her city. Nova Prime instructs Korg to evacuate the planet, but he informs her that the monster has torn through the Jump Point Network, making escape impossible. Just then Peggy Carter lands on the planet to help the planet escape before being eaten, followed by Byrdie the Duck, Kahhori and Storm, the Goddess of Thunder. The all-female squad get rid of the monster in record time but soon after, shards fall from the sky and Peggy realises that they are from the Observational Plane, leaving all of them distressed. Peggy correctly mentions that the Watcher must be in trouble.
High above, the Eminence has the Watcher imprisoned and he mentions that if Peggy or anyone on her team tries to stop them from doling out consequences, they will be stopped in order to protect the order. Down below, Peggy tells her crew that the shards are pieces from the Fifth Dimension and realises that something is very dangerously amiss. Peggy proposes to go help the Watcher and the team devices a way to make that happen, although some are skeptical of the outcome of such a choice.

After upgrading their ship, the team faces a few failures and then they take help from Infinity Ultron, the only being who had even made their way to the Fifth Dimension. After a night of mulling over their decisions, Peggy decides to take up this task alone and meets Ultron in order to save her friends’ lives if things go south. The others are frustrated with her choices and go to Ultron’s location to find Peggy’s shield lying on the ground, broken.
Fearing the worst, the three attack Ultron, who is surprisingly patient with them. Ultron eventually tells the three that the Eminence took Peggy and agrees to help them save her. Ultron powers their ship to the maximum and realising that neither they nor their enemies can see each other, they blast off to the Fifth Dimension to save Peggy and the Watcher.
What If Season 3 Episode 7 Review

With the last episode divided into two, What If keeps the tension intact. I really enjoyed this episode as well, and unlike Season 2, this season has been on a roll with delivering interesting and impactful situations. The action sequences continue to be fantastic and the emotional component is also strong. Whether it be Ultron’s realisation that peace cannot exist without life and life cannot exist without conflict or Peggy (very obviously), choosing to save her friends and sacrifice herself for the greater good, the episode leaves an impact. The possibilities are endless and I am excited to see how the What If finale plays out.

What If Season 3 Episode 7 Ending Explained

In the latest episode of What If Peggy and her team come across an odd problem when broken shards from the Fifth Dimension rain down on them in Nebula’s universe. They immediately realise that something is amiss up above and the fact that the Watcher has not reached out to them after such an odd problem signals that they must be in trouble. The Watcher has clearly become Peggy and Kahhori’s friend, and they vow to go check up on them. Using the three shards, they try their best to travel to a realm unlike their own but are unsuccessful twice. With the last shard being their only hope, they decide to reach out to some universe’s Ultron, who is the only being to have ever successfully done such a feat.
Leaving her friends behind, Peggy meets Ultron but is kidnapped by the Eminence, going through with his promise that he will intervene if she tries to reach the Watcher. Meanwhile, Ultron tells Storm, Byrdie and Kahhori the truth of what happened and they decide to go help Peggy and thankfully, Ultron knows just how to do so. He uses the remaining shard to power himself and puts it all into the spaceship, catapulting them into the Fifth Dimension.
The last episode will discuss what happens next.
