MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 60 Review: “Moo” for the Semi-Finals

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 60 is called Pressure Test: Peter Gilmore’s Raw Abrohols Island Scallop and Moo. Billie is already a part of the Semi-Finals, so that she won’t be a part of the challenge. Contestants Daniel, Keyma and Sarah have to cook two complex dishes called Raw Abrohols Island Scallop and Moo, made by Gilmore.

The synopsis reads, “Daniel, Sarah, and Keyma competed in the final pressure test of the season, set by Peter Gilmore.”

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 60 Recap Contais Spoilers

Judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and chef Peter Gilmore, present a big challenge in front of Daniel, Keyma and Sarah. They have to cook the fancy-looking savoury dish and Moo (a dessert made up of salted oloroso caramel prune jam, vanilla ice cream and cocoa tuiles) in 2 and a half hours. They will get 3 mins to set their dessert in front of the judges during the tasting.

The cook who fails to bring the dish closer to Peter’s will be eliminated from MasterChef Australia Season 14. Peter’s dishes are always complicated and have many steps. The contestants have to cook the sweet and savoury dish simultaneously. But everyone wants to be in the Top 3 and win MasterChef Australia.

Sarah starts quite well with her cook. However, she ends up burning her cocoa tuiles at first. She has to make a new batch and place it in the oven. Her whipped cream also has a runny consistency.

Keyma also starts off on a good note but eventually starts making several mistakes. Her ice cream isn’t churned properly; she also struggles with her katsuobushi cream. Keyma has to redo her katsuobushi cream after failing to perfect it the first time.

Daniel is quite overwhelmed at the beginning of the cook. He says that he isn’t good at multitasking. Even though he was lagging in following steps compared to Sarah and Keyma, in the end, he managed to get every element on the plate. But his savoury dish doesn’t look as fancy as Peter’s.

It’s time to taste all the 6 dishes Daniel, Keyma, and Sarah made. Despite not having the best execution, Daniel’s Raw Abrohols Island Scallop impresses the judges. The judges say that his savoury dish tasted just like Peter’s. Daniel even got his Moo dessert on point.

The judges even love Sarah’s savoury dish. They couldn’t find any fault in her dish, which looked beautiful. However, the whipped cream on her dish didn’t have a perfect consistency. Both the dishes cooked by Keyma had flaws. Her savoury dish didn’t have enough katsuobushi cream. Her vanilla ice cream was icy.

After tasting all the dishes, the judges announce the results. As Keyma’s dish had most of the faults, she got eliminated from the competition. We now have our Top 3 for MasterChef Australia Season 14 – Billie, Daniel and Sarah.

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 60 Review: Final Thoughts

Peter Gilmore’s Pressure Test is truly the toughest one I’ve seen in this season so far! The contestants really struggled and yet, put their best foot forward to complete their dishes. Sadly, this was Keyma’s first Pressure Test in the competition, and she got eliminated.
