Marco explains the dish to the contestants but, by the end, he asks the contestants to follow their hearts to recreate the simple yet brilliant dish. The cooks are only given 45 minutes to recreate the dish by Marco. With the recipe on the kitchen counters, cooks get to cooking!

As the contestants are at their respective counters trying to replicate the masterpiece at hand, we see Marco walk to each and everyone and share his words of wisdom to inspire and motivate the cooks to do their best. Throughout their cooking process, we see some contestants fumble and fall back, whereas some really remain focused and move ahead in preparing the dish. At the end of 45 minutes, all the dishes are ready for tasting.

Tommy’s dish is the first one up for tasting. Marco lets a nervous Tommy know that his plate of food is rather promising with a nice caramelization and texture. The dish impresses all the judges along with Marco. Harry is next and, according to Marco, she’s done an amazing job with the dish. As for Mindy’s dish which comes next, Marco thinks it is a little bit blonde and should have been cooked more. Montana is up next and her dish is not very impressive with a sweet sauce and scallops without caramelization.

Alvin presents his dish next. The dish is an instant hit and, the judges especially appreciate the beauty of the sauce made by Alvin. Michael’s dish up the table is a job well done but, the calamari feels a tad under and the scallops’ caramelization could have also been taken a little further. Keyma’s dish is the one that has the best sauce so far and, nails the other elements too.
