Lazarus Episode 5 Recap
It turns out the earlier hacker had uncovered details about Hapna before anyone else by breaching Delta Medicinal’s systems. It is the company responsible for conducting the drug’s clinical trials. This suggests they may have been aware of Hapna’s risks well in advance. Adding to the mystery, the Lazarus team discovered a bizarre image hidden in the company’s files. Even more strangely, songs have been uploaded to SoundCloud from an account linked to Delta Medicinal. These unusual occurrences raise serious concerns about the company’s legitimacy and hint at a possible connection to Doctor Skinner.
The situation becomes even more intriguing when the team realises the songs are actually encrypted clinical data from Hapna’s trials. Following this discovery, the Lazarus group heads to Delta Medicinal’s headquarters to dig deeper. Surprisingly, the company’s owner appears to have no knowledge of Skinner’s whereabouts and has been searching for him as well. Upon learning this, Axel devises a plan to draw Skinner out by publicly claiming they’ve discovered a cure for Hapna.

To execute this, they host a high-profile conference, anticipating Skinner’s arrival. Despite tight security, the event is disrupted by someone’s attempts to cyberattack. After this, a power failure occurs, and in the chaos, an individual injects themselves with counterfeit medicine. Another hacker strike follows, leaving considerable damage to the system.
Lazarus Episode 6 Review

This episode starts with another clue about Doctor Skinner, where it is said that in his younger days, he was greatly influenced by a commune. This commune still exists, and it acts as a religious organisation, called the Tower of the Truth. Apparently, this group enshrined an AI and now worships it as a God.
We also find out that Elaina was once a part of this religious group or cult, and it is where she grew up. The Lazarus team decides to look into this group because Skinner can hide here, away from the notice of others. Thus, it is decided that their place will be infiltrated by Elaina so that they do not get suspicious, but accompanying her will also be Leland.
Here, things get very interesting as we get the information that the AI that acts as a God right now is called Naga, and it has been modelled after Doctor Skinner’s brain. It was used for an experiment where they programmed the AI with a thirst for power and a desire for control. This becomes awfully clear that the AI is actually evil, and we get proof of it when it tries to literally burn Elaine and Leland.

The most shocking aspect of this entire episode is the fact that this entire cult is a suicide cult that believes in leaving one’s body behind to purify the world. As the AI is programmed based on Skinner’s brain, it becomes obvious that it also harbours a desire to eradicate humanity as a whole, just like Skinner. However, apart from this, the plot does not really progress any further, and we again do not have any clues about Skinner whatsoever.
Verdict

The biggest issue of this entire series is that it does not dwell on or explain any plot point that it touches. This entire cult thing was very interesting, but we do not explore it in depth, and this act ends before it even describes any important details about it. Even now, the story is literally going nowhere, and it feels like it is deliberately trying to drag the central narrative out while rushing the essential smaller developments within the story.
