Kaiju No 8 Episode 8 Recap
This episode was packed with thrilling developments and captivating characters. It kicks off with Hoshina showcasing his swordsmanship against Kafka in his Kaiju No. 8 form. Hoshina’s prowess is undeniable, rivaling some of the strongest characters in the anime, though perhaps not quite on par with Captain Mina. Despite his incredible skill, Kafka, who has no intention of harming his captain, presents a unique challenge that makes Hoshina suspicious of Kaiju No. 8.
Kafka’s integration into the Defense Force is highlighted, showing how much he is valued and cared for, especially by Kikoru, who denies her affection for him. We also learn more about Haruichi Izumo, who initially seemed ordinary but is revealed to be the heir of Izumo Tech, Japan’s leading Anti-Kaiju Weapon Manufacturer. His family’s wealth surpasses even Kikoru’s.
Following the intense battle, the third division enjoys a well-deserved respite, celebrating their victory with a feast. This scene is filled with laughter and camaraderie, concluding with an important announcement that sets the stage for future events.
However, the conclusion shifts the tone dramatically, leaving us eagerly anticipating the next episode and hinting at the approach of more dangerous Kaiju to the base.
Kaiju No 8 Episode 9 Review And Recap
Today’s episode starts with Captain Hoshina thinking about all the things that have happened previously. He recalls how Kaiju No 8 has been strangely human and also wonders about Kaiju No 9 and its ability to act like a human. Just like us, he too wonders what is happening with the Kaijus and what is causing this kind of mutation within them. On the other hand, Kafka chills on the terrace for a bit and reminisces about his duties, before heading to his quarters to rest, and just then, he comes face to face with another huge problem.
Kafka witnesses new Kaiju arriving at his base like meteor showers. But things are far more serious than it seems on the surface as this time, the Kaiju are working in tandem with only one goal in mind. And that is to destroy the base of the Defence Force itself.
Even Kafka manages to understand that something fishy is going on when he sees that the Kaijus, who like to work alone, are now attacking the base in a group. Just like he thought, they are under the orders of a very powerful Daikaiju, who goes directly for the kill when it ascertains Captain Hoshina is the strongest human present.
While Hoshina is busy, the other soldiers are not in very good shape until Kikoru comes with a surprise. She completely dominates the battlefield and proves that she is the third most powerful human in their base. We also see her and Reno working together to bring the chaos down. However, the highlight of this episode is definitely the fight between Captain Hoshina and the new Kaiju. The results were definitely very interesting and anxiety-inducing but, it will fill you with anticipation about the fate of everyone.
Verdict
Today’s episode is definitely worthy of our praise, as it showcased exceptional animation, great music, and nice twists. I can feel that we are nearing the end of the season, and Kafka will have to face one of the biggest challenges of his life soon. Now, I just want to see the next episode as soon as possible.
