I Am Vanessa Guillen: All About Netflix’s Upcoming Horrifying Murder Documentary

Netflix is back with a new true crime documentary yet again. This time they are bringing the story of a 20-year-old United States Army soldier through the documentary I Am Vanessa Guillen. I Am Vanessa Guillen Plot/Synopsis

The Netflix synopsis of the documentary reads, “Vanessa Guillen was 20 years old when she was found murdered at a US Army base. Rather than submit to silence, her family fought for justice and change.”

In the trailer, we can see how the family is trying to pressure the government into making changes and reforming its laws. They submit a bill to reform the laws of sexual harassment cases within the military. Their poor handling of such situations is what leads to such heinous crimes.

Many people were seen in the city streets protesting and demanding accountability. The reformation of laws would help save countless lives. Women in such unprotected workplaces where the majority are men need some form of security from the government.

Vanessa was bludgeoned to death by another soldier from the military, and he managed to escape from the law for a long time. The laws involving the investigation of criminal cases also need to be reformed so the accused can be caught and the victim and their families can receive the justice they deserve.
