Hazbin Hotel Season 1 on Prime Video: What to Expect from the Upcoming A24 R-Rated Animated Musical Set in Hell?

Hazbin Hotel Season 1 is finally happening and soon dropping on the very OTT platform that has now become a home to all the eccentrically formulated and surprisingly eye-widening shows like The Boys, Invincible, Good Omens and more – Amazon Prime Video.

What first began as an ambitious project bringing together freelance animators, financially backed by the OG creator’s (Vivienne Medrano aka VivziePop) Patreon followers, in 2019 with the premiere of a one-of-a-kind adult animated pilot episode titled, “That’s Entertainment”, has now flourished into a new giant universe in itself owing to the enterprise’s unbeatable fan-following. After a patient wait of nearly 5 years, the endeavour has been taken on to a greater pedestal with the collaboration A24, animation studio Bento Box Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios for the title to be expanded into a full season of esoteric comedy that builds on diverse entertaining themes with an eye for normalised inclusivity.

Vivienne Medrano has yet again hopped on as the Hellish universe’s creative director as one would’ve hoped for. Here’s what we know about the upcoming Prime Video premiere.

Hazbin Hotel Season 1 Plot

The series revolves around Charlie Morningstar, the princess of Hell as she sets out in pursuit of her nearly impossible dream of establishing a hotel that will not only offer abode to sinners, but also seeks to rehabilitate them. Like clock work, an annual extermination cycle kicks in as per schedule with Adam from Heaven taking the lead to purge Hell of overpopulation, all facilitated by killing off demons. Charlie, on the other hand, is so far done with these extremities and hopes to come up with a more peaceful alternative to deal with the issue of overpopulation.

Through her hotel, she wishes for her clients to “check out” into Heaven upon atoning their sins in order to find acceptance. Embarking on this tough project with her partner Vaggie and adult film star, Angel Dust, Charlie hopes to manifest her dream into a reality. Soon the news of her plans breaks out and reaches the ears of the “Radio Demon”, who despite having no pure faith in the endeavour decides to help her for the fun of it.
