After releasing the teaser for the upcoming South African TV mystery series on June 5, Netflix has now unveiled the first full-length Fatal Seduction trailer that brings on a hot mess of dark desires that take an even darker turn leading up to fatal tragedies for some. Once again, the OTT platform has no plans of slowing down in terms of expanding its steamy catalogue of titles that seemed to have become its prime source of attraction.
Starring Thapelo Mokoena and Kgomotso Christopher as Leonard and Nandi Motlatsi, the power couple in the limelight who’re rather having a hard time keeping up the looks of a successful marriage that is otherwise falling apart behind the curtains. Meant to be an adaptation of the Mexican telenovela Dark Desire, the upcoming Netflix original series has been created by Steven Pillemer, the South African writer who’d previously brought alive the vision of yet another TV show that premiered on the same streaming platform in 2022, The Brave Ones.

The star cast of the series also includes Prince Grootboom as the mysterious man named Jacob, who’s caught romancing Kgomotso Christopher’s character. Nat Ramabulana, Lunathi Mampofu, Ngele Ramulondi and Frances Sholto Douglas will be stepping in to play supporting roles in the suspenseful series.
The trailer opens by setting in stone that Leonard and Nandi Motlatsi’s marriage is no longer the same romantic blissful attraction it was before. As things sour up more and more between them, the pressure of maintaining the looks of a “perfect” relationship in public mount up due to their status in society. Enter Jacob, a charismatic and inscrutable man, just the kind whom Nandi needs to take her mind off her marriage without worrying about their strings getting attached.
Diving into the lustful exchange on a getaway vacation far from her husband, she soon gets carried away by the charms of this new man in her life, and her husband’s suspicions about her cheating on him rise up on the other side. In the midst of all that transpires, a bloody mystery takes the top spot once Nandi’s closest friend, Brenda, is found dead. Kicking off an even dirtier and confusing game that starts consuming Nandi’s life, she soon comes to the realisation that she can’t trust anyone. If Jacob claims her husband to be hiding a lot more than he’s letting on, then Jacob, too, has secrets of his own sheltered deep within.
Who is Nandi going to trust in the end? Is she somehow involved in all these mishaps? Is Leonard responsible for her friend’s death, or is Jacob not who he’s been seemingly posing as? This fatal game of picking sides only gets more dangerous as we close in on the premiere date. Find out all the answers to these riddles this July on Netflix!
