Drive Hard The Maloof Way Season 2: Will We See Sammy Maloof Behind the Wheels on a Race Track?

Drive Hard The Maloof Way is a reality TV series, released on Netflix, which follows the Maloof family and their speed business. It is executive produced by Will Ehbrecht, Mark Kadin, Anuj Majumdar, Tod Mesirow, and Ken Snow. There are 8 episodes in total with a runtime of about 32 minutes each.

The show is about the Maloofs, a lovable family of gearheads and stunt drivers, who use their passion and skill to build car engines and perform wild feats behind the wheel. Legendary racer Sammy Maloof and his family of racers and stunt drivers build the fastest cars to make sure their clients take the checkered flag on race day.

In the series, we meet Sammy Maloof who specializes in building high horse-powered racing engines with his special custom combinations. And he is also a Hollywood stuntman for over 25 years, with a long list of movies such as Mission Impossible, Fast and Furious, Burn Notice, Three Kings, The Hitcher and many more.

He has been running his business Maloof Racing Engines since 1984 and has made himself a brand in the world of racing, with fast engines and car modifications. His whole family is involved in everything from making the car modifications to leading him head-on in dangerous stunts.

In every episode, they take up a challenging customer who approaches them regarding a grudge race that they want to win and the Maloofs go all out of their way to help them out. In the last episode, James returns with a potentially lucrative challenge for Hannah Maloof. He is the one who won against Sonya in episode 3 and challenged Hannah for another match.

Maloof’s get-ready to bag in the $10,000 loss that was incurred by winning this re-match against James. And as expected, Hannah takes the win. Meanwhile, the twin sisters, Meghan & Kaitlyn drive along with their dad for a chase sequence in an indie rock music video.

The stunt is relatively harder as they have to escape a narrow exit, as a car goes flying, right above them. Even though they were quite nervous, they pull off the whole sequence confidently. Lastly, we saw Sammy Maloof getting a call from Monti Fitzgerald.

Initially, they had lost to Monti’s race driver but won incidentally later, when Larry Mallicone’s grandson took on Fitzgerald’s family grandson in a race. But now Monti wants to settle who is the best driver on the west coast and challenges Sammy for a head-to-head race. While Sammy accepts hesitantly and we see him taking off the cover from his red car which needs a lot of work.

However, as of now, there is no official update about the Drive Hard The Maloof Way Season 2, it might or might not come depending upon the viewership and hype for the first season. The last 5 minutes of the show do hint that we can expect another season, where the head of the family Sammy Maloof might get behind the wheel and race it on the tracks.

It will definitely be an exciting watch since we have only seen him coaching others till now. So we are genuinely curious to know how he will handle the races himself. Of course, he performs various stunts but it will be challenging to get into the racing mode after all these years. Anyway, the show teaches practical automotive knowledge in an exciting and entertaining way and more of it is always welcomed.

Drive Hard The Maloof Way is currently streaming on Netflix.
