Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 5 Reactions are majorly suspicious about the new characters like attorney Choi June and the paternal grandmother, who only smells like trouble for Shin Sung-han. Meanwhile, many are loving the warm and slow pace of the show which grows on the viewers with time.
It (신성한, 이혼) is a Korean courtroom drama series, co-directed by Lee Jae-hoon and Lim Jun-hyuk. The screenplay is written by Yoo Young-ah and it has been adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Kang Tae-kyung, which was published from 10 September 2019 to 31 August 2021 by Kakao.
The cast of the series includes Cho Seung-woo as Shin Sung-han, Han Hye-jin as Lee Seo-jin, Kim Sung-kyun as Jang Hyeong-geun, Jung Moon-sung as Jo Jeong-sik, Kang Mal-geum as Kim So-yeon, Jeon Bae-soo as Park Yu-seok, Han Eun-seong as Choi Jun, Cha Hwa-yeon as Ma Geum-hee, and Noh Susanna as Jin Young-joo among others.
In Episode 5, we see that Sung-han agrees to employ Choi June on the promise that he deletes the video, which he does immediately. Yet many feel icky about him as we later saw him with Park Yu-seok as well, who asked him to continue the spy work & report everything to him. Although June came clean to Sung-han, problems might arise in future if June keeps on sailing on the two boats at the same time.
A new and complicated divorce case was also introduced in the latest episode where we saw two ladies fighting over a man, and the girlfriend of the man asks the wife to divorce him. But the wife refuses & leaves. Today the girlfriend & the man walks into Sung-han’s office for a consultation, for which he asks Lee Seo-jin to sit along as consultation coordinator.
The couple wants the attorney to prove that they are having an affair & get a divorce finalised. But it isn’t a shallow case as it seems. The man, Professor Choi, is apparently suffering from liver cancer & needs a liver transplant to live. But his wife refuses to help, while the girlfriend wants to, she can’t donate without being related to the man. That’s why they need to get married as the wife is only interested in insurance money after the husband’s death.
We also saw the severity of Hyeong-geun’s marriage as he gets to meet his wife’s current lover. While it feels bad to see his character being heartbroken, viewers feel that he needs to let go of her wife since she is pregnant with the boyfriend’s child. In some ways, it’s similar to Professor Choi’s case where the wife isn’t divorcing due to selfish reasons & Hyeon-geun can’t let go due to his love.
