Big Mouth: MBC Releases Their Take on Big Mouse Suspects!

Big Mouth Overview

Big Mouth (빅마우스 / Big Mouse) is a crime-thriller-mystery Korean TV series directed by Oh Choong-hwan and stars Lee Jong-suk, Im Yoon-ah, Kim Joo-hun, Kwak Dong-yeon and Yang Kyung-won, alongside other cast members. The series takes over MBC’s Friday-Saturday 10 PM KST timeslot, previously occupied by Doctor Lawyer.

The Kdrama revolves around Park Chang-ho, a below-average lawyer who gets embroiled in a conspiracy when his “big mouth” lands him in trouble. A murder case ends in him being called genius swindler Big Mouse, which results in him scrambling to clear his name and his life from the conspiracy and its results, with the help of his wife Ko Mi-ho.

Who is Big Mouse? MBC Weighs In!

It’s no surprise that fans are desperate to know who Big Mouse is. Is it someone from outside the prison? Or is it someone inside the prison? Is it someone close to Chang-ho? Speculation after speculation seems to not have any effect since every episode of Big Mouth just keeps adding suspects but doesn’t answer the titular question – who is Big Mouse?!

Now, MBC has joined in on the hunt, with a sly list of candidates. However, are they trying to throw their viewers off the scent of the real Big Mouse? What if it’s just a ploy for them to get us to take the bait while it’s someone else entirely?! Clearly, I have become a conspiracy nut thanks to this arresting K-drama.

However, check out the MBC’s take on the matter:

Chang-ho is the obvious suspect, thanks to Lee Jong-suk’s brilliant acting and a whole host of writers doing a splendid job at writing different shades of his character. He’s also the strongest contender to be the master criminal, regardless of how much he cries in front of Mi-ho. Of course, I am not discounting some sort of mental health crisis here as well.

Do-ha, the mayor, has the means and the capabilities to pull off something this elaborate. He’s also the perfect candidate for it, considering he dislikes Ji-hoon with a passion. Maybe he’s had enough of the pushing around from corrupt officials everywhere, and this is his way of taking revenge?

Jerry, a master manipulator and everyone’s friend in prison, has stuck by Chang-ho like glue from day 1. He has a mouse tattoo on top of everything and seems to know an awful lot about everything happening in prison. Apart from Chang-ho and Do-ha, he’s the most likely to steal billions easily.

No Park, the room leader, seems calm and composed and very knowledgeable about everything, including tarot cards, something ‘Big’ is using to interact with Chang-ho.

Yoon-gab, the warden of Gucheon prison, is another person who knows a lot and has the capability to do more. He is sly enough to pull to control others with the power he has in prison and doesn’t seem to be too afraid of anyone around him!

Gan Soo-chul, the prison guard, seems to be in focus at all times but not enough to warrant raised eyebrows. There’s something going on there but is he simply a mean person, or is he someone whom everyone is scared of?

Gi-gwang seems to be just a bit far-fetched but when it comes to our master manipulator, is anything far-fetched?

Kim Soon-tae, Chang-ho’s best friend and the person who is helping Mi-ho fight for her husband, hasn’t really come to the surface and has always been the person behind Mi-ho and Chang-ho, but what if he’s the one pulling the strings?

These are great candidates and just make the thriller series more mysterious in my eyes!

Check out the series on Disney+ and on MBC.
