Episode 6 becomes one of the best midseason plot twists. It is no longer about two people who love each other but about two people who are now exhausted and want to explore more. With guilt and shame covering them, Mi-do and Ho have reached their breaking point and crossed the line by cheating. The series is deeply human.

A Love Other Than Yours Episode 6 Review
Cheating Becomes the Breaking Point
The biggest turning point is cheating. The drama doesn’t inform the viewers about the cheating but literally shows it in its rawest form. Mi-do is emotionally vulnerable, and her relationship with Ho is crumbling. With Tae-sung, she feels understood and loves his touch. With everything going on, she deep down knows she could never see Ho the same way again.
Mi-do and Namgung’s relationship has always been built around sacrifice. They literally became each other’s family by sticking through the hardest times. Now that their lives seem to be drifting further apart, they realise they need to focus on themselves to find happiness.

Ho wants to protect Mi-do, but his protection increasingly becomes control. He tries to do what’s good for Mi-do, but all she wants is to choose her path without his leadership. Whereas Mi-do wants to protect Ho by taking care of all his trauma without realising it’s making him weaker. Their tragedy is that they are both trying to save each other while failing to truly listen to each other.
Ho’s Trauma
Ho confronting his mothers add an emotional depth to his character, and we understand why he wants to keep Mi-do by his side. He has lost so many things in his childhood because he had no control over them. But with Mi-do, he can choose options to somehow keep her with him.
His character is not a commanding or demanding one, but he is yearning for a love that’s permanent. The only thing is, he is trying to seal it forever rather than actually living it and letting it go when it needs to go.

Tae-sung and Mi-do
Tae-sung becomes increasingly important because he sees something that Ho seems unable to see. Mi-do’s exhaustion. Though their kiss seems complicated, it is very special. It gives Mi-do the release of anxiety, and she finally loosens up. She now knows she isn’t attracted to Ho anymore but loves him for the familial bond that they share. It isn’t romantic anymore but is more of a family-like love. You can love a person and still not end up with them.
Tae-sung cannot be completely absolved simply because he understands Mi-do. He knows she is in a relationship, and the consequences of that decision now affect everyone.
Is Redemption Still Possible?

Well, after the cheating, Mi-do and Ho returning to their relationship might really be a hassle. Mi-do and Ho might try to rebuild, but at this point there isn’t any reason for them to do so. We’re still unsure how it’s going to be because Ho and Sua are forming a bond. Soon their relationship is going to get complicated, and we will see Ho and Mi-do bidding farewell.
The Perfect Cliffhanger
The ending is brutally effective. Just when viewers think they understand where the story is heading, the episode stops and leaves several possibilities open. We see some tight, sparkling scenes between Sua and Ho, showing that they’re going to get pretty close. Closer than Mi-do and Tae-sung.

Episode 6 is probably one of the most emotionally challenging episodes of A Love Other Than Yours so far. It may frustrate viewers, and some may strongly disagree with the characters’ decisions, but it succeeds in making those decisions feel emotionally believable.
