A Love Other Than Yours Episode 5 Review
This Relationship Was Already Broken
Their decision to get married felt extremely off because they just broke up and patched up hastily. Their wedding plans feel more like preserving what they used to have than continuing what they truly have. They no longer share honest love but are just each other’s comfort place due to sticking with each other for over a decade.
Longevity doesn’t automatically mean a relationship is healthy. Sometimes staying together for too long simply turns love into habit, familiarity, guilt, and fear of starting over. Mi-do is feeling exactly this.

Mi Do Doesn’t Know Who She Is
Mi-do’s character is extremely frustrating, but she is also understandable. Her problem isn’t the relationship but herself. She has no image of herself except being the perfect girlfriend of Ho. She is still confused about her skills and has no proper opportunity in the cinema career for her to shine.
Ho does love her, but he always tries to make Mi-do have easy choices. Instead of letting her choose, he prepares everything in advance and simply protects her like a knight. She doesn’t want to be the princess, as it feels suffocating for her.
Then Comes Han
Our second lead, who ruins everything, arrives. Ruins? Yeah, it could be a big word, but logically speaking, he is the reason why Mi-do cheats; but speaking realistically, he truly is the one who shows who Mi-do truly is and what she really wants. He sees her insecurities, frustrations, and years of anger built up. Instead of protecting her, he pushes her to see whether she breaks her limit.

You see, he is a good man and a very protective one, but he chooses to guide Mi-do rather than lead everything. She is finally feeling seen by someone. Han sees her as a human and not the cute girlfriend.
The Kiss Was Cheating
Let’s not sugarcoat it: the kiss was wrong. Though they both were drunk, they were well aware of what was on. In fact, Mi-do pushes Han away the first time, but eventually, she kisses him the second time. She does feel guilty, but she simply sleeps to cover her discomfort.
But was the kiss honest? Mi-do was already exhausted, tired, and was losing herself. Han came right on time when she was completely losing herself. So could the kiss be just a stupid decision? But regardless, the cheating has officially happened, and there is no way Ho and Mi-do could think of living together after all this.

Running Back to the Comfort Zone
And the next morning, Mi-do doesn’t tell anything about the last night to Ho and she simply blocks Han. Eh? She is definitely not herself. She tries to convince herself that Han means nothing to her because she fears that she might lose the comfort and safe life with Ho. Everything is perfect with Ho except herself. With Han, she’s unsure, but something in her awakens beside him.
Hey, let’s not just blame Mi-do, shall we? Ho is also having his own share of dilemmas with our female second lead. She is such a bubbly personality who often hangs out with Ho. Yes, Ho doesn’t do anything physically wrong with her, but deep down, he does seem to emotionally like her over Mi-do. He just doesn’t want to accept it.
Final Thoughts

This series isn’t some random fiction but feels extremely relatable, almost non-fiction-like. Mi-do made a terrible choice, which most people would do. Like Ho, many are indeed controlling and overprotective. This series shows four different characters and four different ways of loving. One could be controlling, one could be selfish, one could be caring, and one could be exhausting.
And honestly, that’s what makes this drama interesting. We are not sure who will end up with whom, but all that we know is that they all need therapy.
