Perfect Crown Episode 11 Review
Quick Recap
We learn how Yian entered the council hall right before the explosion. Apparently, Jeong-woo asks him to meet her at the hall while she sends Hye-jung to bring Yi-yoon to the throne hall. This is how Yian gets caught in the explosion. At present, Hee-ju rushes inside the hall and, with Choi-hyun’s help, she saves Yian, but he falls into a coma.
As rumours about Yian’s death spread, Hee-ju decides to dig up the truth about the explosion. She becomes suspicious of Jeong-woo. Likewise, Yi-rang learns that Sung-won is the one who set the council hall to explode. Given things are out of hand, Yi-ran confesses to Hee-ju and asks her to protect her son Yi-yoon amidst the chaos.

Yian recovers and learns about the corruption around the throne. Yian officially states that if he becomes the king, he will abolish the monarchy, which shocks Jeong-woo. The episode comes to a close as Sung-won is arrested and Yian is throned as the King.
Performance of the Cast
IU as Hee-ju delivers a great performance. Seeing how desperate she looked while trying to save Yian, it was extremely realistic and didn’t feel like she was acting. Likewise, she takes care of Yian and uncovers the truth, demonstrating the character’s determination and boldness. IU portrayed Hee-ju’s emotions perfectly.
Jeong-woo’s character takes the lead in this episode. Given that Yian falls into a coma, we don’t really see too much of Byeon Woo-seok. Jeong-woo, played by Noh Sang-hyun, takes the spotlight as his villainy was at its peak. His angry emotions were visible, proving how much ego and hatred he has within him.

Themes Explored
Truth is the main theme we get to see in this episode. The theme is well explored by Hee-ju as she searches for it. Starting with all the chaos, she finally realises Jeong-woo isn’t as sweet as he seems. She learns about the explosion’s reason from Yi-rang and also finds evidence on the poisoning scandal. Hee-ju finally realises who the mastermind is.

The episode also explores sacrifice through Hee-ju’s boldness to risk her own life for Yian. Their relationship now feels built on mutual care and emotional equality. She straight up ran into the council hall, not worrying about the fire or smoke, as all she wanted was to save Yian.
Direction and Editing
Pretty decent direction and editing when it comes to both the emotional and political scenes. The fire sequence is intense and visually powerful without becoming a mess. The smoke-filled hallways and a dizzying pace seemed really well-fitting for the scene, and it made Hee-ju’s rescue plan seem emotional and dangerous.

The coronation ceremony is beautifully filmed, using grand visuals, costumes, and music to create a powerful close to the episode as we await the finale.
Final Thoughts
Episode 11 successfully starts to untie the knots and create the perfect plotline to wrap in the finale. All that is left is Jeong-woo getting his final punishment and the happy ending of Yian and Hee-ju. Given that Yian is going to abolish monarchy, we are going to see him live a free life and enjoy a normal family time with Hee-ju.

Stay tuned for the finale as the drama enters its most dangerous and politically intense chapter yet.
