What happens to Subaru?

The episode opens with Subaru clearly having a nightmare about his past enemies. We see Petelgeuse Romanée-Conti and Regulus Corneas talking to him, making no sense. That is when he wakes up on the lap of Emelia within the carriage. Here, he gets to know that Emelia had been caring for him for the past two days, waiting for him to wake up.

He then meets others and finds out that the carriage was in the very place where he had to fight that fire-using monster.

What happens after Subaru meets Shaula?

Shaula was nothing like what they thought she would be. In person, Shaula is agreeable, fun-loving and upbeat. Not only that, but she also jumps on Subaru and starts calling him her master. Subaru obviously has no recollection of ever meeting her or guiding her. Here, everyone discusses the three important figures whose names are literally inscribed on coins. Among them was Shaula’s master, who looked nothing like Subaru. However, the reason Shaula thinks Subaru is her master is that they have a similar odour to themselves.

When asked about her master’s name, she finally reveals it is Flugel, the wise man.

What is this Pleaides Watchtower?

Sahula finally states what Pleaides Watchtower actually is. According to her, it is just a temporary name for its temporary role. She claimed that now that Subaru is back, the tower will also go back to being a great library where they can find everything they ever wanted. Through this tower, they might finally be able to find out how they can bring Rem back.

What was Shaula’s function?

It becomes clear that Shaula was acting on her master’s orders from the very beginning. She later confirmed that for 400 years, she spent every single day watching the desert, waiting for her master to return.

Subaru realises that because Shaula is thinking of him as her long-lost master, he can make her do anything he wants. Then he goes on to demand that she should never harm his friends again. She readily agrees to this.

How can they get into the Pleaides library archive?

To get entrance, they must qualify for the place. This is why they also need to go through an examination, which is supposed to be the greatest challenge in front of them. Apparently, everyone took the exam apart from Subaru himself, who must pass, now that he’s awake.

When Subaru goes there, he finds a monolithic slab, and upon touching it, many more slabs come out. Then, it instructs Subaru to do something very specific. It says “hero vanquished by Shaula, touch upon his grandest splendour.” And not surprisingly, Subaru manages to pass the exam.

What worked and what did not work?

The complexity of Re:Zero’s storyline has always been one of its greatest strengths. Its layered lore pulls you deeper with every branching narrative, keeping the world constantly engaging. On top of that, the series introduces a wide range of distinct, memorable characters. Plus, each character is easy to grow attached to, just like Shaula.

  1. “And not surprisingly” Bitch that motherfucker subaru is a smartass he did that by using should as it’s guide to know the story of the Orion where Orion died because it was sting by a scorpion that scorpion is symbolize as shaula natsuki being the most smartass in the series manage to find that the “monoliths” When seeing above (lifted up by beako) it was all constellations that’s why he made an assumption that the answer might be Orion because of shaula and in Orion there are two stars named Betelgeuse and Rigel well he obviously chose Rigel since that petelgeuse died, going back that’s why he found the answer and go to library… I like this review other than that of your episode 3… At least you are improving now…
