Dandadan Season 2 Episode 11 Recap

The last episode features a Kaiju that launches a relentless assault on Momo and her friends. What makes the situation strange is that this Kaiju is actually an alien, and it even grows to an enormous size during the chaos. Realising the danger, Aira and Jiji rush to the scene, only to find their friends desperately fleeing. Aira chooses to stay behind and confront the beast, while Jiji escapes with Kinta. At first, Aira holds her ground, but the monster quickly turns its attacks on her.

A fierce battle breaks out, with the group struggling to hold their own against the Kaiju. Meanwhile, Kinta’s sweat accidentally drips onto Jiji’s skin, causing the Evil Eye to resurface. Excited at the chance of facing Okarun, Evil Eye immediately makes his way to Momo’s house to prepare for the showdown.

Back in the fight, Momo, Okarun, and Aira realise they can’t keep up the assault and decide to retreat. The danger only grows since Seiko isn’t home, leaving them to come up with their own plan. Okarun explains that Momo’s house is built with Nanoskin, a material that can transform based on imagination. This is where Kinta steps in and decides to make a giant robot out of this material.

The season finale opens with a massive action sequence where the giant robot fights against the Kaiju monster, and it does not have a very good time at first. Not only that, even Okarun and Jiji get ejected from the machine because they could not control the massive body. However, Kinta, being the robot fanatic that he is, readily figures out how to utilise imagination in controlling the robot, and then he starts his fight. This is one of the best fights of this season, and the heroic montage that Kinta gets really sells his backstory to the audience.

But when he starts facing problems with Kaiju, who is definitely hard to handle, Aira and Momo come in clutch. They utilise their powers and beat the Kaiju monster so hard that it finally accepts defeat. However, their cover gets blown, and all of this action comes into light in front of the general public, and they start taking pictures. Needless to say, things become far more chaotic, and the usual frenzied tone of Dandadan comes back.

However, I did not expect the sudden introduction of a new character and the way she behaved with Okarun towards the end. The scene was absolutely brilliant because it had a similar effect on Momo as we see in the very first episode of this franchise. So even though this episode was definitely something dedicated to Kinta, the new character with pink hair steals the show.

Dandadan Season 2 Episode 12: Still

We got an absolutely explosive finale with action, drama, and, towards the end, a bit of romance that was very unexpected. Hopefully, we will get more background in the next episode, but sadly, there is still time for the third season to come.
