Korean Dramas Releasing in May 2025: The summer heat is setting in, and new Korean dramas are here to make this an unforgettable season for fans worldwide. This month has been memorable for Kdrama fans, but May is ready to give it a tough competition with what it has in store for us. Some of these shows are among the most anticipated dramas of the year, which we have been looking forward to.

Thus, with many genres to dive into again, the list is long, good, and ready to keep us on our toes. As new couples make their way to our screens, and our favourite actors make their return, we are excited to share this list as soon as possible. And now, let’s begin with the list!

This musical youth drama is one that brings a love triangle, competition and the best days of one’s life. This is the musical journey of a trio that forms a band and finds its way in life after unexpected events leave them in a mess. As they pick themselves up with the help of music and the friends they form on the way.

Directed by Kim Sung-yong, the drama stars Ha Yu-jun, Park Ji-hu, Lee Seung-hyub, Jo Han-chul, and other cast members. The Kdrama follows a K-pop group’s vocalist and guitarist, a gifted vocalist and keyboardist, and a brilliant guitarist and med student who begin a new chapter in their musical journey together. The show is set to broadcast on SBS.

Second Shot at Love

Bringing an intriguing rom-com, this is the story of two friends who meet after a long time and soon discover that their personalities are different from what they once were in the past. With changed selves and a future together, they begin to dive into what happened to the other and fix up their situations and their relationship.

Directed by Jang Yoo-jung, the drama stars Choi Soo-young, Gong Myung, Jo Yoon-hee, Kang Hyung-suk, and other cast members. The story follows a woman who decides to sober up after being diagnosed with alcohol dependency, after which he runs into her high school friend, who was once kind, but is now heartless. The show is set to broadcast on tvN.

Tastefully Yours

This is a rom-com which has a lot of food involved, so be ready with some food on the side because this show is going to make you go hungry. Bringing the story of two opposing people when it comes to food, this is a story that develops into a love which will keep you entertained and intrigued with what will happen next.

Directed by Park Dhan-hee, the show stars Kang Ha-neul, Go Min-si, Kim Shin-rok, Yoo Soo-bin, and other cast members. The story follows two people- the heir of a large food company who doesn’t care about ‘taste’ and a chef who only cares about ‘taste’. The show is set to broadcast on ENA.

Dear Hongrang

Lee Jae-wook is back in another historical get-up, and we know that this is what we needed this season! Bringing us an intriguing historical mystery show, this Kdrama is ready to keep you on your toes as the revelations are ready to leave you shocked. And with a cast as wonderful as this, we know that this is going to be worth watching.

Directed by Kim Hong-seon, the drama stars Lee Jae-wook, Jo Bo-ah, Jung Ga-ram, Uhm Ji-won, and other cast members. The story follows the mysteries behind the disappearance of a wealthy family’s son and his return after a decade. With everything changed, things don’t seem to be as easy as they look. The show is set to release on Netflix.

Nine Puzzles

This month cannot go without a good crime thriller, and this show is ready to bring us exactly what we want. With a thrilling experience ready for the audience worldwide, this show is exactly what we needed in the upcoming month. And to add on, we have yet another wonderful cast ready to bring the best of this genre.

Directed by Yoon Jong-bin, the drama stars Kim Da-min, Son Suk-ku, Hyung Bong-sik, Kwak Ja-hyungm and other cast members. The story follows the story of a woman who grows up to become a criminal profiler in an effort to clear her name and find the truth behind her uncle’s murder. However, the truth is unlike anything she could’ve imagined. The show is set to release on Disney+.

Next, we have another interesting romance drama that is unlike anything we have seen in this genre. With twins taking up the screen, this show has some very interesting concepts and an unexpected love story that could develop in any way. With changing perspectives and living a different life, this show is ready to bring in a new experience for viewers.

Directed by Park Shin-woo, the drama stars Park Bo-young, Park Jin-young, Ryu Kyung-soo, Lee Jae-in, and other cast members. The plot follows a pair of identical twin sisters with differing personalities who exchange their lives due to an undisclosed reason. The show is set to broadcast on tvN.

Oh My Ghost Clients

Next, we have a supernatural comedy thriller; a combo that we have known to love for a very long time now. This combination of genres assures the best of entertainment, and we are ready with the hope that it stands out the way it is promising us. Adding on, we have another good cast ready to take over the audience with their performance.

Directed by Im Soon-rye, the drama stars Jung Kyung-ho, Seol In-ah, Cha Hak-yeon, Tang Jun-sang, and other cast members. The drama follows a group of people who come together to solve labour problems for ghosts that can be seen by the labour attorney. The drama is set to release on MBC.

Good Boy

Finally, we have an action comedy drama with a lot of sports involved because this one follows a police team formed of athletes who have won medals in various international competitions. Park Bo-gum takes the lead in this show, and we cannot be more excited to see him on screen once again after his recent hit Kdrama.

Directed by Shin Na-yeon, the drama follows Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, Oh Jung-se, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, Tae Won-seok, and other cast members. The show follows a special police team formed that consists of Olympic medalists, who are now ready to keep people safe while using their special sports skills. The show is set to broadcast on jTBC.
