Best City Hunter Moments (2024): A new Netflix movie based on the famous manga City Hunter by Tsukasa Hojo is here, and I really liked how it portrayed a beloved character like Ryo Saeba. Let us revisit some of the most memorable and notable moments from the movie.
City Hunter 2024 Overview
The popular manga series City Hunter, which has sold over 50 million copies, has finally been adapted into a highly anticipated live-action film. The story follows Ryo Saeba, a skilled “sweeper” who navigates the dangerous streets of modern-day Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The film features a talented cast including Ryohei Suzuki, Misato Morita, Masanobu Ando, Asuka Hanamura, Ayame Misaki, and Moemi Katayama. Directed by Yuichi Satoh and produced by Keisuke Sanpei, this movie promises to be an exciting adventure.

Best City Hunter Moments (2024)
Ryo Saeba Entry
The first most memorable scene from this movie is definitely the entrance of Ryo. But it is not the first entry that I am talking about, rather it is when he goes across buildings to save Kurumi and shoots midair while hanging from a rope.
The reason why I like this scene is because, before, you could see Ryo being an absolute goofball, checking out girls at a sauna. But then you notice how he gets serious, once he goes into his work mode.
Hideyuki Makimura’s Death Scene
This one is a sad scene where we see Ryo losing his longtime partner Makimura. From the beginning, you can tell how close Makimura and Ryo are based on their strong bond. Makimura even delivers his last wish to Ryo, knowing that he’s the only person whom he can rely on.
Thus this is an essential moment where he tells Ryo to look after his sister, Kaori, which Ryo continues to abide by till the end.
An Almost Naked Ryo Dancing
Now this scene is the funniest of all, as again, we see another shade of Ryo’s character. On the surface, he is playing around dancing naked in front of people at a bar, when he should be working to solve his case. Kaori has the same notion about him and is pretty disappointed with how he’s wasting away his time.
But later, you get to know that he has been going around all these shady places because he wanted to gather more information on the people who killed Makimura.
Ryo Is An Absolute Badass
Even though there are many fight scenes where you see just how good Ryo is, throughout the film. But his last fight is a particular favourite of mine. Our hero has always been known as one of the best marksmen in his field, and he proves that here while fighting countless gunmen, and protecting Kaori at the same time.
Here, you can see him seamlessly glide through everyone, shooting them using his impeccable aim without missing a single shot or wasting a bullet. The scene is also nice because it establishes that Kaori is fit to be his next partner, as she gives one of the best assists to Ryo.

The Conclusion
Last but not least, the conclusion is definitely a memorable moment where the movie confirms that Kaori indeed will be the one who will stay with Ryo from now on, as his partner. And, in proper City Hunter fashion, the movie ends with Kaori chasing Ryo down with her signature hammer, giving us a nostalgic look back to its original source. Plus, the fact they used a revamped version of the song Get Wild by TM NETWORK as their ending theme is a win for the OG fans.
