Call It Love Episode 8 Recap
Call It Love episode 8 starts with Woo-joo sitting on a bench, drunk, and wondering about what she confessed to Jun and understanding the implications of it. She is heartbroken over how she has treated him till now and even sadder that she might be in love with him. Ji-gu spots her in this condition on the bench outside Dong-jin’s apartment and asks him to take care of her, and he rushes to her aid.
When she wakes up from her inebriated sleep and sees his face, she seems to be pleased with the sight, and Dong-jin questions her why she is sitting at the playground without calling him. She asks him why he thinks she is there to see him and then mentions that she was the only one who didn’t notice her own feelings previously. She ends up blaming him for pretending not to notice anything for her failure to understand.

He ends up walking her home, and she opens up to him about her father’s affair and her long-lost career in archery. In the end, she asks him not to like her and presents it as a favour to her, stating that it wouldn’t end up being a good idea. After they part ways, Woo-joo sobs about their interaction, and Dong-jin also looks quite hurt.
The next day at work, Jun tells Woo-joo that he didn’t end up telling her mother the truth since she never picked up. A relieved Woo-joo lets Jun know that she will be looking for Ji-gu from that day. Meanwhile, Dong-jin cancels the exhibition hall rental and gets to know from the proprietor that Sung-man is in a lot of trouble since he is unable to pay for the fair that he had tried to make using Min-young’s fake investment promise.
As Sung-man tries to find Min-young, Dong-jin wonders what Woo-joo’s warning from last night was about. In the office, a morose Woo-joo can’t help but be drawn to Dong-jin and fixes his shirt button. Meanwhile, after a little fight with Sun-woo, a heartbroken and desperate Min-young thinks back to her first meeting with Hee-ja and realises that Dong-jin’s mother is a tornado waiting to destroy everything. When she mentions her meeting his mother to Dong-jin, however, he is displeased but doesn’t say anything to her.

As her last-ditch attempt to clear the air, she desperately tells him through a half-closed door that she left him not just because of his mother but because he grew distant the moment she mentioned marriage. She’s upset that he never fought for her and that he was so cold towards her concerns. She places some part of the blame on him as well, and after she is done with her rant, it turns out that Ji-gu is the one who was on the other side of the door and feels rather awkward to be put in such a position.
The next day, Sung-man continues to try and harass Min-young for answers while Woo-joo tells the realty agent that Dong-jin needs to stop looking for them and that they are doing fine. She also doesn’t want money or anything, mentioning that she only wants everyone to move on from the debacle. At the office, things continue to be icy between Woo-joo and Dong-jin as they distance themselves from each other in spite of their growing fondness.

Meanwhile, Young-min is left baffled when Yu-ri tells him that Woo-joo is close to Dong-jin. He thinks back to what she had told him about ruining the company and wonders whether she set him up and got him fired. On his quest to find Min-young, Sung-man ends up at Min-young’s apartment like a creep and asks her to call him since he doesn’t know how to give up.
Meanwhile, Dong-jin looks a bit sad after getting to know that Woo-joo won’t be coming for team lunch that day. Plus, she will also be quitting after her contract ends, so she doesn’t see the point of getting to know anyone too well. As everyone enjoys a hearty meal, Woo-joo tries to meet her brother and finally try to talk to him.
Back at the restaurant, Sun-woo implores Dong-jin to date Woo-joo. But he tells her that he had promised himself never to be hurt again as he knows how every relationship ends. But Woo-joo tests all of these boundaries of hers, and she has swayed him, even if it’s just a little bit. Sun-woo is ecstatic at his confession.
Call It Love Episode 8 Ending

On his way back home, Dong-jin comes across Min-young outside their building and advises her not to drink so much. Right on cue, she hugs him, having been given a tiny leeway, and Sung-man sees the scene in front of them, seething that they are working together. Just as he is about to attack them, Woo-joo steps in and stops him from interrupting them… or from hurting Dong-jin.
Call It Love Episode 8 Review
I don’t get it – I don’t get this relationship between Dong-jin and Woo-joo. I don’t get why she would continue to work with him when she feels like she can’t be with him, considering both of their feelings for each other. I also don’t understand why she creeps around his building all the time and is conveniently there whenever he needs her. It’s just so odd to me that this is how the relationship is moving forward.
It’s annoying watching adults act this way. Sure, trauma can be really damaging. But the last thing anyone probably wants is to watch two people constantly go back and forth without actually doing anything to move forward with either themselves or together.

Moreover, I just move between annoyance to admiration when it comes to my feelings for Dong-jin. Like, I get you’re a good person who had a shitty childhood. But you also own a business. So you need to be a little ruthless sometimes. And I am not even saying that he needs to finish people off who wrong him. But you can have some sort of boundary, right? Otherwise, you simply let people walk all over you. He had a good moment with Young-min, but I fear that he is going back to his old ways slowly and steadily, and I don’t like it.
Either way, I just want the two leads to get some therapy. This behaviour is not sustainable.
Sung-man’s storyline is also odd. Although I get it – he’s that creep who can’t take no for an answer. But even then, what is he trying to achieve here? Jump on Min-young and force her to invest? Or assault her? I don’t get it.
But mostly, I don’t understand where the story is going with its convoluted plots and purple scenes. There are some moments that really are touching, but I mostly want the story to move forward instead of going round and round in circles.
