The synopsis reads, “Watch the heartwarming and inspiring story of Suman, who is struggling to set up her entrepreneurial venture to get her kids back from her ex-husband, Dilip.”
Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd Review Contains No Spoilers
In Zee5’s Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd, Suman is a divorcee and lives alone in Daryaganj. Her ex-husband is married to a woman named Manisha. Suman and Dilip have two kids – Juhi and Rishu. However, the kids stay with Dilip and Manisha. Her life is a mess, and she wants to do anything she can, especially to be able to give everything to her kids.
Another problem in Suman’s life is that she isn’t educated. Hence, she cannot take a job to support her family financially. However, Suman doesn’t let that become an issue. She decides to start her achaar (raw mango pickle) business. The journey of being an entrepreneur in a competitive business isn’t a cakewalk. But Suman’s determination and zeal help her face every hurdle in her way.
Writers Abhishek Srivastava and Swarnadeep Biswas have penned a story that doesn’t take time to get us involved in Suman’s world. I watched the show without watching the trailer as I was fascinated with the name. I wanted to find out what exactly the premise would be. I am glad, because I’ve sat through those 6 episodes smiling, feeling sad and rooting for Suman.

The writers’ story and the director Apoorv Singh Karki’s honest approach are visible on the screen through Amruta Subhash’s earnest performance as Suman. You empathise with her, and not even once do the makers try to show has as ‘bechari’ or make us feel pity. She’s in pain, she fails numerous times, but she knows how to stand up again.
Despite having the plot of an ex-husband who remarried, the makers didn’t add the typical hatred between two women. We don’t see Suman and Manisha sharing much screen space. But when they share screen space, there’s warmth and respect for each other. Anjana Sukhani has done a good job with her performance as a loving Manisha.
The show also has humour, especially in scenes featuring Daadi and Shukla Ji. The camaraderie between Suman and her mother-in-law and Shukla ji add depth and breezy moments to Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd. Anup Soni as Dilip is an angry man. More than anyone, Dilip needed to eat some food with Suman’s achaar and really calm down. The child actors play their parts well.

The last episode goes a dramatic way to conclude the story. But it’s so inspiring that you are somewhat okay with the dramatisation. TVF is known for making shows that touch you and leave you with a smile, and they’ve done it again.
Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd Review: Final Thoughts
Overall, Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd is a sweet and uplifting tale of a woman who finds hope in life again after losing everything. Amruta Subhash is fantastic throughout, and you root for her character Suman. The solid screenplay, the simplicity in the narrative and the feel-good vibe make the show worth watching.
The show is now streaming on Zee5.
