20th Century Girl Trailer Breakdown: Kim Yoo-jung as a Young Girl Falling in Love

Netflix’s upcoming youth romance movie 20th Century Girl is released this month and we are waiting for the beautiful first love that we get to witness. Directed by Bang Woo-ri, the film stars Kim Yoo-jung, Byeon Woo-seok, Roh Yoon-seo, Park Jung-woo, alongside other cast members.

The trailer released earlier today gave us the fresh breath of first love that we once felt in our teenage years and has definitely perked up our interest for what more it is going to bring.

The trailer begins with Na Bo-ra (Kim Yoo-jung) finding out that her best friend Yeon Du (Roh Yoon-seo) is going off to America due to her heart condition. However, before she leaves Yeon Du asks her for a favour to find out everything about her crush while also keeping her updated about him.

Bo-ra soon comes across Baek Hyun-jin, who is Yeon Du’s crush, on a bus and is ready to execute her mission for her best friend. She goes around finding out everything Yeon Du wants to know about him, but not everything can be found just by observing. So she decides to get closer to Hyun-jin’s friend Poong Woon-ho who studies in her class.

She soon finds out that he has a pager and tries to connect with him, however, he interprets it as Bo-ra being interested in her. On the other hand, Woon-ho too thinks the same until Bo-ra denies these thoughts when she suddenly realises at that moment that she likes the man in front of her, Poong Woon-ho.

As she finally understands what her friend has felt too, she slowly falls deeper in love with Woon-ho, while her mission to observe Hyun-jin brings her closer to him. As these days bring a mess into her friendship, the scenes fly through while the voice of a man tells her he misses her and wishes to see her again in the 21st century.

Will these four be able to meet their first love from the year 1999 in the 21st century? This question leaves us hanging as the trailer comes to an end while leaving us intrigued to know what happened between these people.

Did Bo-ra stalk the wrong guy while helping her friend? Or did she go for the right guy but at the wrong time? We really want some answers and cannot wait till the movie is finally out.
