Netflix has done it again by releasing the aesthetically appeasing teaser of the upcoming Korean teen movie 20th Century Girl starring Kim You-Jung, Byeon Woo-Seok, Roh Yoon-Seo, Park Jung-woo, and more. Releasing this October, the Netflix original film takes us back to 1999 to explore the purity of first loves and friendships.
It marks the directorial debut of Bang Woo-Ri, who also penned down the story for the romantic drama release. The movie is bound to be a heartfelt reminiscence of the innocence associated with such feelings. Its choice as a movie instead of being picked up as a K-drama series will hold the storyline intact, as opposed to K-dramas with similar plots dragging out every detail till the end.

Netflix has released its official synopsis as:
In 1999, a teen girl keeps close tabs on a boy in school on behalf of her deeply smitten best friend – then she gets swept up in a love story of her own.
The movie’s teaser visually reminds us of the various elements and aspects that made the late ’90s a wholesome epoch to live in. VCRs, huge box-like computers, camcorders, and walkmans, along with spying on your best friend’s crush for her (not in a creepy way), take us on a nostalgic rollercoaster. Bringing back the simple causes of one’s happiness, the teaser boasts a rich pictorial representation of the era.
All our guilty pleasures will be rolled into one as we travel back to the 20th century, a time when things were not as shallow and superficial, and the smallest of gestures gave you butterflies. Don’t forget to check out the teaser of the forthcoming film dropping in October.
