In the finale episode, we take home too many life relatable stories and that’s why this series stands out. Starting off, Yian believes that monarchy is the reason behind all his suffering and of his loved ones. Hence, he decides to abolish it. But our villain Jeong-woo has another idea. Since he is obsessed with money and the crown, he pressures Yian to not do that. He even continues to manipulate him.

Yian doesn’t really like being the King as he believes the nation’s people needn’t have to abide a royal person. His goal was not to gain power but to protect the people he loved, especially Hee-ju and his young nephew Yi-yoon. After Sung-won’s crimes are out in the light, Yian wants to abolish the King rule even more so he can prevent future hazards for the future royal heirs.

Hee-ju reveals the true face of Jeong-woo, thanks to Yi-rang’s evidence. This proves Yian that he had the enemy right next to him. Given all the truth is now out, Yian gives the public the right to decide whether the monarchy should remain. The citizens ultimately vote to abolish the royal system, officially ending centuries of royal rule.

For Yian, this feels like a personal victory. The first thing he does is ask Hee-ju to call him by his name and not of the royal title. This shows how much he has yearned to live a normal life. Time skip, we are now seeing Hee-ju and Yian have their best time of their lives as ordinary couple. They’re seen going around, cooking and cleaning.

In the final scene, the two kiss each other as they watch a sports event, showing the love won in the end. All the main characters are finally free from all their personal struggles.

Will There Be a Season 2?

At the moment, there has been no official confirmation regarding Perfect Crown Season 2. And Honestly, there isn’t a need for it to continue because the villain is handled and the show ends on a positive note. So there won’t mostly be another season.

Yian’s journey comes to a great end. He finds freedom, love and also knows the nation’s is at peace. Likewise, Hee-ju doesn’t have to carry her identity crisis as she now is in love with a man, who will choose her again and again.

Of course, if the creators wanted to continue the story, a second season could potentially explore Yian and Hee-ju adjusting to ordinary life after royalty or focus on political changes in the nation after the monarchy’s collapse. However, narratively, Perfect Crown already feels complete.

Wrap Up

Perfect Crown ended not with royal triumph, but with emotional liberation. Instead of glorifying power, the drama questioned whether systems built on hierarchy and inherited privilege could ever truly remain fair. Through Yian’s decision to abolish the monarchy, the series ultimately chose freedom, love, and humanity over tradition.
