The newest Superman in the market under the largest and oldest comic book entertainment franchise is David Corenswet and, we will not blame you if you mistake him for DC’s last actor to have the title Henry Cavil. But, this new update in the DCU only piques our interest about who is this new guy!
For the ones who do not know, James Gunn is ready to revamp and reboot the DC Universe. This revamp means that the latest DC script is being written for a younger version of the character. Unfortunately, our dearest Witcher would not be able to fit the part as it demands someone new and young. The news really hit hard when fans discovered Cavill exiting the franchise but, Corenswet replacing Cavill hits harder. More so because we are completely in awe and unaware of this new character entering our lives. But, don’t worry because we have got you covered like always in this arena!
Who is DC’s New Superman David Corenswet?
David Corenswet is a graduate of the prestigious acting institute Julliard and, has previously been a part of big banner projects. One of his most renowned acting credits presently is his role as Reed in House of Cards in the episode Chapter 72 and Jack Castello in Hollywood. His film acting credits include Michael and Clyde, Affairs of State, The Sunlit Night, Project Pay Day, Look Both Ways and Pearl.

Additionally, this Superman is not just an actor. In fact, Corenswet became a lawyer, many years after he was working as a stage actor. One can say he followed his mother’s footsteps who also happens to be a lawyer.
What is in Store For David Corenswet Next?
Corenswet has been signed as Clark Kent aka Superman under the DCU. We will see him play his first big role in the franchise in the 2025 film Superman Legacy. This will be a massive career shift for this young actor as he will play the most enduring hero ever. Apart from this grand deal Corenswet has cracked, we are going to see him in the 2024 release Twisters. Two other titles- a movie called The Greatest Hits and a series named Lady in the Lake will also feature him.
Alongside Corenswet, the 2025 James Gunn release will also have a different Lois Lane. The star cast for this role is Rachel Brosnahan, who we know from the fan favourite Prime series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
