Mission Huntdown Plot

Neera and Mahid, two people from very different backgrounds and different motivations, attempt to use each other while working together in order to find truth and closure as well as exact vengeance in their mission to hunt down an emerging terrorist group in Bangladesh. Will they both be successful in their individual missions and find what they are looking for?

Mission Huntdown Review

Two different people with two different motivations – but one shared end goal. Mission Huntdown tries to mix these two people’s feelings, motivations and desperations to bring forth a picture of horror and shock that threatens to destroy Bangladesh. Apart from saving the country, they also have their own personal experiences that cloud their judgement and drive their decisions and play a big role in how they work together.

Mission Huntdown isn’t a new story, and neither is it anything particularly shocking or eye-catching. The acting, apart from the leads, is subpar, and the special effects are quite bad. There is quite a bit of blood everywhere and, thanks to it being a terrorist-based plot, a bit of action as well. However, in spite of a lot of throats being slit and fights being conducted, neither feels believable. In fact, some of the blood splatters are probably (definitely) ketchup being thrown down recklessly. The extras are awkward in their roles as well and don’t bode well for a rather lukewarm show.

mission huntdown Review

I say lukewarm because, even half the runtime in, the series doesn’t feel thrilling and is unable to create tension. The pace is always quite slow, and there is no shock factor that leaves your heart racing – nothing to look forward to that brings out the devastating situation that is cooking in the background. Add to that painfully awkward and unnecessary instances that would’ve been better left out of the show. But, well, here we are.

The plot progression is super slow as well, and it takes forever for something to happen. When it does, in spite of the minuscule buildup, there is literally nothing that makes watching this remotely interesting. I think it’s because of the rather poor display of emotions that are hardly believable and a pacing that is beyond sluggish. Even if you skip forward quite a bit, you are not going to miss out on anything.

The fact that Mission Huntdown strings these uninteresting scenes together makes the interesting bits not make the desired impact. In fact, it’s confusing to watch these moments that are utterly unnecessary in a storyline that isn’t anything new. What is the point of everything – this is a question that will plague you as you slowly go through the runtime of a series that is simply just too long. Maybe if the runtime was shorter and the storytelling was tighter, it would’ve made for a more thrilling watch.

Mission Huntdown Review: Final Thoughts

mission huntdown Review

Mission Huntdown is a rather boring and sluggish watch that doesn’t feel like anything, really. It’s a very lukewarm thrill that doesn’t thrill or chill. But FS Nayeem does a good job with his character, and it’s somewhat interesting watching his character figure out a big terrorist ring and its operation.

Mission Huntdown is streaming on Hoichoi.
