The complete cast of the true-crime series includes Joseph Scotto as Bernie Madoff, Donna Pastorello, Cris Colicchio, Stephanie Beauchamp, Kevin Delano, Alex Olson, Isa Camyar, Alicia Erlinger, Sarah Kuklis, Paul Faggione, Marla Freeman, Howard Schaal. Moreover, the series will be helmed by Academy Award nominee Joe Berlinger.

Madoff The Monster of Wall Street Storyline/Plot

The series revolves around the Bernie Madoff Ponzi Scheme, which was a fraudulent investment operation that occurred in the United States from the early 1990s, and until 2008. Madoff, a former non-executive chairman of the NASDAQ stock exchange and prominent financier, operated the scheme through his business ventures.

Furthermore, Madoff’s scheme was able to operate for so long due to his reputation and investors’ trust in him. He targeted wealthy and influential individuals, along with charitable organizations and financial institutions.

Notably, the series focuses on the scale of the Madoff Ponzi Scheme, which was completely staggering. It is estimated that Madoff defrauded investors of around $64.8 billion, making it one of the largest financial frauds in history. Many of the investors who lost money were left financially ruined and some even committed suicide due to the scheme.

The series also commentates on the grave aftermath of the scheme. As it had far-reaching consequences and led to increased regulatory scrutiny of the financial industry. It also highlighted the importance of due diligence and the need for investors to be cautious when considering investment opportunities.
