Twelve Episode 1 Recap

The episode opens with a rundown of light triumphing over the forces of evil, immediately cutting to Taesan meeting a convict in prison, representing Angel Capital Group. He’s asking for repayment from him and promises to get the money out of him in one way or another. We eventually meet all the other members of Angel Capital Group, who offer loans to high-risk groups like ex-convicts or gangsters.

The gang head out as repayment time comes around, while Taesan talks to Marok, who buys a ton of clothes for Mirr with Taesan’s money. However, the family tension isn’t easy to solve. He insists that she come back home, but she refuses and simply walks away. It’s implied that Mirr saw a dream that impacted her so badly that she decided to leave home, but we don’t know what that is yet.

That night, the group and Taesan both go out for repayment and are able to get their respective tasks completed, but, of course, after some heavy fighting. Afterwards, he meets some acquaintances but comes back to an empty house. Meanwhile, a dangerous ritual summons O-gwi back from hell.

Twelve Episode 1: Park Hyung-sik

First episodes are always tricky, and Twelve is… ok. It’s a classic introductory episode that doesn’t take the story forward much and is only used to tell us who the different characters are. I feel like the series has potential if the supernatural aspects are used well, but with how things stand, it’s quite unimpressive. And I think Ma Dong-seok is fantastic as an action star. I love seeing him in shows. Ahn Ji-hye had a fun vibe, and I liked her in action sequences. But there’s just so little to watch in this first episode that it’s hard to judge, especially because the plot progresses so little.

Hopefully, the next episode changes things.
