After the golden premiere of The Kid LAROI’s new single, the internet is raving about the song and spilling Too Much Feat Jungkook reviews on X (formerly Twitter) like there’s no tomorrow. Much like how the BTS ARMYs are claiming it to be, the song is quite literally “too much” to handle for them, as is the collaboration between the Australian singer/rapper, the K-pop idol (a member of BTS) and British rapper Central Cee.
The trio has churned out a golden song that has particularly gauged this much attention due to Jungkook being featured on the track, making this his third international collaboration this year after joining hands with Latto for SEVEN and Jack Harlow for 3D, both of which will be featured on his own first solo full-length album GOLDEN, releasing this November.
The Kid LAROI has previously released a song with the same name, but the two results strikingly contrast each other, with the latest collaborative endeavour even pulling in non-fans from all over the world. Releasing on October 20, 2023 (KST), the trio’s collab track stands in as one of the songs that’s to be featured on the Australian rapper’s upcoming album The First Time, which is also his debut studio album, and much like Jugkook’s solo album, will be released next month as well.
Its music video has been directed by Ramez Silyan and it visualises the three singers on the covers of the fictional Too Much magazine editions in some scenes, while others picture them in front of coloured backgrounds that represent the same magazine covers coming to life. With Jungkook belting out “angelic” vocals in front of the purple background, the BTS ARMYs have especially been moved owing to the “Bora” colour being one of the representative elements of BTS.
BTS Jungkook’s verse are put on a loop in the song and the same loop is stuck in the fans’ minds, as they can’t get enough of his lines, “If we had the chance and time to spend / Would you do it again, would you do it again? Was it too much? / Now you’re calling your friends cuz I’m gone again / When I’m back around would you do it again / Was it too much?”
While his powerful vocals have never disappointed his fans, an X user also remarked, “His voice is perfect for any musical genre”; as another posted, “It’s funny how a song changed my musical taste”, and yet another one pointed out, “This is the best collaboration ever just perfect in every aspect”. The Jungkook Golden album is set to release on November 3, 2023, through Big Hit Music, and its tracklist consists a total of 11 songs including his previously released singles SEVEN and 3D too. The BTS maknae will also be performing at the upcoming MTV EMAs 2023 in Paris, as will be The Kid LAROI.
