LE SSERAFIM “Made My Night” Performance Film Review: Pop Colours, Big Energy and Choreography That Refuses to Sit Still

LE SSERAFIM “Made My Night” Performance Film Review: LE SSERAFIM performing a bright, bouncy pop song that makes it difficult to remain a passive viewer is an almost infectious energy it emits. You can try to sit and pretend that you are simply “listening” and “watching” like a serious person, and then the choreography kicks in, the colours start popping off the screen, and you are suddenly mimicking the choreography on your chair.

The performance film for “Made My Night” understands exactly what kind of song it is dealing with. Released as the title track of LE SSERAFIM’s second single album of the same name, the song dives into the joy of spending a night with someone who makes it better, and the performance carries the feeling without making it unnecessarily complicated.

It is colourful, energy-packed and fun, rather unapologetically. It is more like a visual equivalent of adding glitter to an already perfectly good outfit.

LE SSERAFIM “Made My Night” Performance Film Review

What immediately works for me about LE SSERAFIM’s Made My Night is that the performance gels with the song without fighting it. The choreography moves with the track instead of overpowering or underplaying it, even when the members are in perfect formations.

The distinction is important, as K-pop choreography can become so technically packed sometimes that you start watching the dancers count rather than actually enjoying the song, but the movements here feel more natural. There is a lot of energy which does not feel exhausting, but the members bounce between formations, individual moments and group choreography with the kind of confidence that makes difficult movements look easy, which is, in my opinion, LE SSERAFIM’s recurring superpower.

The choreography also gives a personality to the audio, with the little movements feeling playful rather than shouting at us and work beautifully with the song’s lighter mood. It is bright, cute and energetic, but all in perfect amounts without turning the performance film into a childish video or a cardio class.

The Pop Colours Are Doing a Lot

The visual palette is probably one of my favourite things in the performance film. There is a very deliberate use of blue and pink throughout the performance, with the stage setup, which gives the whole thing a youthful, candy-coated energy. The colours do not sit in the background looking pretty but help create the mood of the song.

Everything feels bright, loud and fun, and that is exactly what Made My Night needs. The colours complement the members and the choreography, making every formation even more noticeable and creating a new little visual picture. It is the kind of performance where pausing the video every few seconds could probably give you a different wallpaper.

The Outfits Are No Less

The styling follows the same philosophy. The costumes feel youthful and playful while remaining the polished K-pop performance quality. There is enough variation to keep distinction between each member, but the overall styling feels like a single unit in a cohesive space.

Nothing is screaming for attention over the others; rather, they become part of each other. This is especially important in a performance film because there are no elaborate narrative scenes to distract you: the performers, outfits, lighting, and the choreography are part of visual storytelling working together.

LE SSERAFIM Knows How to Perform a Happy Song

The performance looks genuinely happy and playful. There is an ease with which the members carry the performance, which makes the whole thing enjoyable. The energy comes from the group itself rather than simply from editing magic.

The choreography gives each member room to have their own presence while still making the group formations feel strong, and the balance between individuality and synchronisation makes LE SSERAFIM have a different appeal and visual identity.

Made My Night seems less interested in “proving” something and more interested in simply having a good time, and that is exactly what a comeback perhaps needs.

Final Verdict

LE SSERAFIM’s Made My Night is not trying to reinvent the concept of a K-pop performance film; rather, it takes a bright pop song, gives it energetic choreography, throws popping colours, dresses the group in styling that matches the mood perfectly and lets the members perform.

The choreography is catchy without becoming exhausting; the colourful visual palette makes the performance feel instantly lively, and the styling connects the two. There is a sense of joy throughout the performance, which is like a cherry on the cake and the absolute energy for LE SSERAFIM’s comeback.

Sometimes a performance film does not really need to be complicated, but just artists performing with their whole heart on a catchy song with good choreography and enough colours to make your screen look like you would have a better day ahead.
