A month before the actual music award show ceremony, the 2023 MAMA Awards nominations were announced on October 19. To be held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on November 28-29, 2023 at 6 PM KST, the two-day celebration of Korean music and culture is one of the most highly awaited year-end extravaganzas also know as “World’s No.1 K-POP Awards”. Music released between October 22, 2022, and September 30, 2023, is eligible for the show.
The pre-voting session for the Worldwide Fans’ Choice opened at 6 PM KST on October 19, 2023, allowing fans to vote for their favourites till October 30, 2023, at 11:59 PM KST. 20 artists picked through this round will move forward for the final round, the voting for which will commence on November 6 at 6PM KST and continue till November 20, 11:59 PM KST.
MAMA Awards 2023 Voting / Judging Criteria
Artist of the Year: Judges panel evaluation 20% + song downloads/streaming 40% (Korea 25% + Global 15%) + record sales 40%
Song of the Year: Judges panel 20% + song downloads/streaming 80% (Korea 50% + Global 30%)
Album of the Year: Judges panel 20% + record sales 80%
Worldwide Icon of the Year: Votes on Mnet Plus 70% + Spotify Votes 30%
Awards Categories by Artist: Judges panel 20% + song downloads/streaming 40% (Korea 25% + Global 15%) + recrd sales 40%
Award Categories by Genre: Judges panel 20% + song downloads/streaming 80% (Korea 50% + Global 30%)
Worldwide Fans’ Choice category: Votes on Mnet Plus 70% + Spotify votes 30%
Best Music Video: Judges panel 20% + music video 80%
How to Vote for Worldwide Fans’ Choice category: Mnet Plus allows you to vote once a day, counting one vote per ID. You can vote for a minimum of 1 and maximum of 3 teams during each voting session. Multiple votes for the same artist are not allowed.
