Still From Tomo-chan Is a Girl

This series is that much-awaited anime adaptation of our beloved romcom manga of the same name. Fans of this franchise are beyond ecstatic that this perfection of a romcom is finally getting the proper treatment it needs, and we are excited to see how it goes.

The anime is directed by Nanba Hitoshi, who has worked on Anime like Fullmetal Alchemist, Hajime no Ippo, Gosick, etc. The sound director is Masanori Tsuchiya, who has given music to shows like Plastic Memories, Kenja no Mago, Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii, etc.

The opening song will be Kurae! Telepathy (くらえ! テレパシー)” performed by Maharajan. The ending theme is “yurukuru*love” performed by voice actors Rie Takahashi, Rina Hidaka, Sally Amaki.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Tomo-chan Is a Girl Episode 3 Review and Recap – A Date Like No Other

Another hilarious episode of Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is here, and we are back again with its review. At the beginning of the episode, Jun tells Tomo that he and Gundou used to date, and this leaves Tomo nothing but shocked.

Even though both Gundou and Jun are best friends of Tomo, they never even breathed about such essential information in front of her. This obviously saddens Tomo, and she rushes to Gundou to ask about the reason for them keeping her in the dark.

That is when Gundou informs her and us about the reality of their relationship. Jun was the one, who, one day, suddenly, came to Gundou and asked her out. And Gundou, being an appreciator of entertainment, thought it would be great to date someone like him, whom many girls like. But she quickly regretted her decision as they were like oil and water.

On their first date, Jun took her cycling on a mountain, extremely tiring her in the process. Gundou was already fed up by the 3rd day and decided to break the relationship. But Jun beat her to it, and he broke off the association before she could. To this day, Gundou holds an apparent hatred towards him for being the one who got rejected by a man like Jun.

This part was undoubtedly funny, and the next part focused more on the romantic aspect. Here, Tomo actually manages to go out with Jun on a date. Well, we call it a date, but for Jun and Tomo, it was more like friends hanging out. But Tomo was prepared this time, and she took the help of Gundou and Carol to come up with a fitting outfit that threw off Jun for a bit.

Even though they did not have a traditional date, they had great fun at the bowling alley and the baseball centre. Lastly, they even go to a karaoke where Tomo sings children’s songs the entire time.

Verdict

The whole episode was very entertaining, especially at the end, as even though Jun did not sing with her, he took a video of Tomo and even thought there was something different about her in that particular outing. We also witnessed that Jun was jealous when he met Misaki senpai. But he deliberately pretends not to care about him in front of Tomo. Watch this anime on Crunchyroll.
